Totally. And maybe it’s changed now, but when we were doing research it seemed that if you’re not at home, like on a road trip, and if you couldn’t find a “supercharger” station, you needed to budget like hours of time to wait for your car to charge. No thank you.

@Roughhouse Dandy I get the sad react, but driving EV’s here is super impractical.

It gets down to -55 Celsius in the winter, cities and towns are hundreds of km’s apart, and there’s zero infrastructure built for ev’s here.

If you’re driving here in the middle of winter and your vehicle dies, you will also die of hypothermia within a few minutes. Rural Canada is no joke, and until there’s more infrastructure in place and the technology allows them to run longer (and stronger), they will forever be super impracticable and unsafe in rural/northern Canada.

Canada used to have a rebate program for EVs but hilariously they decided to pull it a year or so ago. That decision also made some people decide not to get one because they felt like they missed the boat on the rebate.

Some of the new models have really improved with the fast charging times. But even so, its not 5 minutes like filling up gas

 

So to not be annoying there needs to be stations everywhere so u can charge while parking to do something else. If u have to go somewhere specific and wait its gonna suck

💯. It will take a while for the infrastructure to be where it needs to be to make this more appealing to more people. And I also hope there are even more worthy competitors because I refuse to give Elon any coins.

They could be sadding your comment for the fact that its a reality u deal with and that the transition cant be made easy not necessairily shaming you.

We also need to get more condos and apartment buildings to invest in putting stations in parking spaces

 

At the moment its only single family house owners mostly in suburbs who own a garage that can be more anxiety free about lack of infrustructure

 

Tenants, condo owners are kinda at the mercy of what is publicly available

That's completely understandable. Just the word "forever" had me thrown, but it's good to know you'd consider it if/when infrastructure is better!

Oh yeah... that Government with Scott Moe gonna be even less supportive than Alberta for EV transition

 

I often thought of Alberta as Canadas most comservative Province but its just bigger, more relevant and gets more attention Nationally

 

But when I think about it, Saskatchwean might actually take the cake in Canadas most conservative Province. 

 

Saskatchewan is even going as far as defying Federal Law and paying Carbon tax. Now thats deep
