I just hope she has the chance to go #1 in future weeks. There's no major competition this week and there might be an incentive for her fans to really stream hard to make up for the debut. With those new slowed and reverb versions and possibly another music video coming, next week is her chance. Thing is, when an album is beloved, no one really remembers if it went #1 in years to come. If it's a success, people assume it was #1, kinda like Bad Romance. The public are always shocked when they hear that missed the top spot.

I don't remember it being that low. I do know that Billboard introduced a new rule then - was it something like banning album bundles towards sales and any more than 4 variations in one transaction will only count as one sale? Because I do remember it being said that this would effect Taylor's sales and sure enough, they weren't as high as usual, despite it being a lockdown when her fans had nothing else to do but stay inside and listen to music and would've benefitted from Christmas sales. But personally, I think it was more to do with how those albums with their more ballad led, acoustic direction, was more for the fans rather than the public so she was relying on pure fan support especially with the follow-up. If people didn't like Folklore, they weren't going to stick around for part 2.
