Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism debuts at #1 in the UK

Radical Optimism, Dua’s first LP to debut at the summit, shifted a total of 46,300 chart units in its first 7 days.

Radical Optimism becomes Dua’s first LP to debut at Number 1 in the UK. 2020 record Future Nostalgia peaked at Number 1 in its second week on chart. Self-titled 2017 debut Dua Lipa reached Number 3.

+ Dua Lipa’s These Walls debuts at Number 40 on the Official Singles Chart.

As Taylor Swift brings The Eras Tour to Europe, former Number 1 The Tortured Poets Department is down one after a two-week stint at the summit (2) with 31,897 units.

Frank Turner secures a sixth Top 10 album with latest LP UNDEFEATED this week (3).

The album has really grown on me. It’s less pop hooks than FN and that’s not a bad thing. It’s more sophisticated, production is superb. still think FN is stronger but that’s like comparing Chromatica to BTW. It was never going to do the same numbers.

I feel the other way around. As an album Radical Optimism sounds better with all of the songs in there. I wasn't a big fan of the singles when they came out but they've grown on me so much after listening to it from start to finish.

This is the one thing I feel Future Nostalgia doesn't have. People praise it so much because it has songs like Physical, Levitating, Hallucinate which are 10/10 but the lows are very low (Good In Bed, Boys Will Be Boys). Then there are others that get kinda meh with time (Future Nostalgia, Cool, Pretty Please).
