River 105,782
1 hour ago, PartySick said: Right?! There's like 2/3 whole different segments between the first chorus and second verse of some songs. Their structures incorporate instrumental breaks that feel more substantial and meaningful than most whole lyrical chunks on Chromatica I think that's what I find extremely lacking in Gaga's music. I've been spoiled by the Jackson siblings, MJ and JJ, whose music feels like a living creature. MJ once said he "let's the song create itself". The kicks feel more like heartbeats and the music itself is filled with flourishes, flares, style, and emotion. Gaga's work, while it's my favorite non-Jackson music, just doesn't have that quality and I guarantee it's because her producers force themselves on a song rather than creating it linearly and organically. Maybe that's the real root of the reason I'm not anxious for LG7 I know it's gonna be more manufactured sound coming out of a sample bank or a tired recipe or formula. Even structurally her music has pretty much always followed the "verse / chorus / verse / chorus / bridge / chorus" formula and when she finally decides to shake it up, we instead get "verse / non-chorus / bridge / non-chorus" Gaga will bring it to life in the end but I'd just as soon go watch Joker II or something instead...kind of wild to lose interest in your fave's music but that's where I am But here’s the difference between Janet’s and Gaga’s music, Janet does R&B and it has different structure, layers and elements than a pop song while Gaga’s is dance pop, she already broke the traditional pop structure in many of her songs, but pop is a manufactured, sample kit, easy lyrics, kind of music.. But I also get your point and somewhat agrees with it, Gaga’s music since BTW lost it’s boldness,. His fart felt like a kiss
Fantina 3,275
I love Gaga, but it's insane to me how bad the promo was for this album. A couple of weeks before the album dropped, we could have had the Fortnite collaboration which could have impacted sales a LOT. Also, it would have made sense because the album SCREAMS video games. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
ModernEcstasy 8,326
Honestly? I’d personally change nothing! Chromatica is the first and only no skips album for me. It’s perfect. The interludes are fantastic and I love the flow of the album. Perfect opening and closing tracks too. I love Chromatica
olive specter 1,166
well first of all i was hoping the album was going to sound like the enigma teaser but whatever, if we have to do house inspired music, i would at least make the production more raw, not as bland (bloodpop is not the main producer, that's for sure) i would make every track go into another the way interludes do free woman demo stays, we are not cutting the best i want to be freefrefree part the visuals were ok, nothing drastic to change, i just wouldn't use an iPhone instead of a real camera for Stupid Love, and a green screen for ROM - we are building real sets 911 deserved a better video that actually matched the album aesthetics and didn't look like a whole different era and that's basically it oh and also, she could have work a little bit more on some of the lyrics, they are not as poetic in some places as they could've been ++oh and also 2.0, pandemic was a perfect time to do more promo because people were bored and scared and wanted something fun to distract themselves woth, not less because it's a serious time etc. Edited May 5 by olive specter

Mirrion Rizzons 10,280
the only thing I would have changed single-wise would be for Gaga's team to have actually pushed 911 as a single. She performed it, dropped the video, then silence. It should have been sent to pop radio, and got better playlisting Edited May 5 by Mirrion Rizzons
Juniper 789
I would’ve made it a 2-part album. Keep the original as it is and release the acoustic ballad demos as a part 2.
Ayden 100
The main thing i would've changed from this era is that Alice should've been the main single. Sour Candy and Sine From Above should've been singles too with their own MV. And if i had to get picky, an extended version of the album would've been nice, like what Kylie did with Tension. That's all. The album its perfect as it is imo. It just needed a bigger promo rollout i.e more music videos, live performances, visuals, etc... it was going to have all that but COVID happened 🤷♂️.

Guest
The only thing I would change off the top of my head is the playback speed of 911. Whenever I listen to it, I feel like it should be slightly faster. I played around with playback speed on YouTube and I think the 1.1x, so if the production was changed to that that would be perfect for me. Mr S 8,178
The songs needed to be completed. Some songs are missing choruses, others bridges. The production needs to not be watered down. I'd go with Baby long first, ROM second, and Replay 3rd and end with 911.
