Controversiaga 9,242
I wouldn’t compare Madonna and Taylor’s careers except for their both queens. But Taylor is nowhere near as provocative or boundary pushing as Madonna. Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

She’s always been brutally honest with her opinions on other celebrities and I think she has a right to express them just as everyone here does. (Also she’s kinda right) Why is it always “12 year olds” when the mass majority of fans of Taylor are in their mid to late 20’s
Economy 46,972
Agreed. Commercially she definitely is. In fact if anyone can surpass her at this point its her (by some stats and metrics she already has) But i also agree shes not as interesting. Not Saying Taylor is bad but Madonna was super iconic and pushed boundries... Taylor Swift does not unless u count pushing up against label contracts as new boundries 3

Lucas 23,975
Madonna is far more interesting and impactful than Taylor will ever be, those who says the contrary are pure delusional 12 years old, period.

Dr Fudge 8,581
Ever since Lana put out her John Denver song? That was literally like 2 months ago and she hasn’t put out new music since. So because Courtney didn’t like one song, a cover, that discredits the entirety of Lana’s discography? Oh ok. Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years. 1 2

She's basically just a celebrity who sings at this point Thank you! Taylor is a good songwriter so I do think "Great gowns. Beautiful gowns." is a bit much. Taylor's a savvy business woman that has mastered the art of mass appeal. She purposefully appeals to everyone under the sun. Her lyrics are super vanilla, so the leftist liberal and the rightest right-winger can listen to her. Anyone from an 8yo to an 88yo can feel safe listening to her. The most you can expect is a curse word or two. There's no talk of illicit drug use and I can promise, you will never hear "Driver roll up the partition please, I don't need you seein' TayTay on her knees" come out her mouth. She can pivot from being nerdy, to sexy, to playing the victim, to wonder woman when the moment calls for it. Puts the word "gay" in a song and all a sudden the gays have latched on to her left teat for sustenance. Lays in bed with a black man to pander to the black community knowing damn well she'd never date a black man. That mass appeal translates to massive sales, and with album sales currently in the sh*tter, the Shammys reward her with AOTY as a thank you for making the industry look healthy sales-wises while encouraging other artist to follow her blueprint.
