I’m not denying that there aren’t individuals and doctors and researchers that experience study and treat migraines but the language of “community” feels like it’s just co opting Gaga’s brand of being a “uniter” and condensing it into a pharmaceutical ad lol all she’s gotta do next is mention the bravery and kindness of the migraine community and my eyes will have officially rolled into the very back of my skull tbfh Brb formally joining the seasonal allergies community bc I deal with that every February March and April. Wanna preface this by saying I am anti Gaga’s medicinal influencer era. But the migraine community is very real. I see it with my mother. Migraines are in general quite misunderstood. People who don’t often experience them right them off as simple headaches, when the reality is getting them chronically can often be debilitating. As such, a community has formed around it. People who suffer with them chronically are in online support groups, provide each other with advice on how to manage, help get each other in contact with specialists who can help treat in ways a normal physician cannot. It is absolutely a community, and just because you do not see it doesn’t mean it’s silly or doesn’t exist. It is powerful for people who suffer from this to connect with people like them to validate their experiences because they’re VERY often invalidated in real life because people don’t understand a migraine is much more than a headache. I’ve watched my mother sob in her bed with a migraine so severe she’s vomiting and unable to move. It cripples your life to have them chronicially. Like any other illness, a community of sufferers formed to help each other, just like the cancer community show for each other. Gaga as a celebrity should not be the face of a pharmaceutical brand. That is worthy of criticism. But please do not belittle or diminish a very real community people who work to help each other just because you find it silly or are upset with a popstar. 9

You DO need someone to support you because most people who don’t experience migraines or live with someone who does fail to understand what they’re really like and minimize the hell out of them. 4

Apologies to anyone I offended for insensitively not recognizing your community. i’d imagine that treatment options are already discussed commonly but may Gaga’s pharmaceutical partnership spread information to corners of the community who are not in the know of this miracle drug Edited April 8 by holy scheisse
lazygaga 60
So cringe and embarrassing..does she really need money this badly that she has to promote drugs on instagram? The fact that they released this a day before the Joker trailer shows that they know this is a bad look, and are just hoping it gets buried by tomorrow. 3
