Some of my ancestors are from Ireland.  Ireland has four provinces.   Long ago my ancestors and cousins were there when the province of Ulster was taken from Ireland by the British.  Many died in the strife.  This song tells the story.  In the song, the "old woman" is Ireland, and the green fields are the four provinces.   One of the verses of the song:

"Long time ago" said the fine old woman
"Long time ago" this proud old woman did say
"There was war and death, plundering and pillage
My children starved by mountain valley and sea
And their wailing cries, they shook the very heavens
My four green fields ran red with their blood" said she"

I can imagine how many of my cousins were slaughtered.  The song is here:

 

My ancestors who traveled from Ireland to America never went back to Ireland.  This extremely sad song is a series of letters written by a father living in Kilkelly Ireland to his son in America.  It's heartbreaking.

Will not be linking the songs because I’ve suffered enough but I’m a Mess by Bebe, Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake, and I Luv It by Camilla Cabella are all songs that have made me want to drive into incoming traffic just to stop the madness.

I was absolutely terrified of this when it came on the music channels as a child

i didn't realise until recently it literally samples the psycho soundtrack

but the video was as scary to me as the lion and the bear episode of teletubbys
