Anderson123 36,439
I like them both and even if I can't sit through an album from start to finish from either of them, I'm going for Beyoncé. As a performer and vocalist, those are easily some of her strongest skills. Her albums are usually concept stuff so well planned, especially everything since Self Titled and you can really tell there's a lot of people involved in those projects, great quality. Taylor is a great songwriter and she's really good at pleasing the fans with constant content, easter eggs, etc. but her music as a whole is a bit "vanilla" to me and yes I've liked some stuff from 1989, Reputation, Folklore/Evermore but it's music I'll be listening to for a bit once it's new and then weeks / a couple of months later move to something else.

I’m considering Beyoncé or Taylor as the next in line Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”
WhiteWitch 720
I’ll abstain from voting. I adore both and refuse to perpetuate pitting female or queer artists against each other. Both are incredible and creating monumental shifts in the industry regardless of how anyone feels about their music in comparison to their taste. I just don’t see this even being a productive question. If I can have room for over 1900 artists in my library, and still find new music/artists to enjoy, there’s no reason to entertain the idea of even implying that any are better or worse. Especially artists that are part of marginalized communities. 1
StrawberryBlond 14,331
I admire Taylor for the fact that she is the primary songwriter on all her work and can play multiple instruments. But her music, for the most part, I find to be pretty middle of the road and musical output is the thing most important to me. Beyonce's music on the whole is far more appealing to me, with 4 of her albums being quite decent and she has a few really good songs per album. She also is a better vocalist and performer, so she picks up the areas that Taylor lacks (though, to her credit, she has got better of late, as befits someone on a massive stadium tour). Beyonce also has major star power. She's one of the few singers today that I'm sure would have me starstruck if I met her. Beyonce experiments more and is more musically interesting, so it's her I'll pick. But both of them are still overrated to me whose appeal I'll never truly get. holy scheisse 21,809
Taylor bc she actually writes her own music and I can feel her emotions in it even if it’s immature and stupid as hell at times Beyoncé feels like she just performs beautiful music. we all care about certain things in artists we love and something that I care about is that it feels genuine. Even if cringe and not as talented vocally or performance wise as Beyoncé, Taylor feels genuine in her songs.
Bling 31,284
Beyonce because she IS the total package as a musician. Vocals ✅ Visuals ✅ Production ✅ Concept ✅ Performer ✅ Original ✅ Risk-taker ✅ Some may argue "but but but she doesn't write her own music". Ok sure. But when you see how she performs AND SINGS LIVE while doing choreo, you really dgaf! Name one other artist alive that has as much energy and stage presence as Beyonce, I'll wait Yeah she uses samples but she is very creative and masterful with how she uses the samples. Creating something new, fresh, and unexpected. (I say all of this as someone who really did not enjoy her Cowboy Carter album) It remains a mystery to me HOW Taylor Swift can be so successful. Sure she is a good (not great, Lana is great) songwriter. Sure she can write catchy music. But Henny, I watched the first 10 min of the Eras Tour film and damn she was off key as soon as she started. The backing track is turned up SO LOUD. Is the stage production and dancers and flashing lights to distract from her voice? The good sis is 34yo, why is she still writing and acting like a teenager?
