Omg i sometimes can’t believe the amount of bull I read in these publications. So much of the things written seem so forced. Just stay in the songs and evaluate the production, lyrics. Ofc they do exactly the opposite.

Eh I think a review should talk about the broader aims of the project. Plus, the critique that some songs feel to by the numbers for her is a valid critique specifically of the songs. I’d very much agree. No song is a bad one but some absolutely feel too simple for someone who has proven the scale of her ability over the last decade or so

Liked it but the thing is any Bey albums will be sold as some mind-blowing piece cause they're scared of the beehive.

Countless indie artists do the same or better but will never get a Grammy or even have similar metacritic scores.

I feel the opposite, tbh. I think Renn is much more consistent, cohesive, and well-paced. CC is very good, but def has some bum spots, track listing issues, and as a whole, is a little bit less satisfying as a listening experience despite having strong highlights.
