All kidding aside, I have no problem with artists changing their names.

I remember watching a documentary about Bobby Darin.  He was in a hotel room and someone was telling him he should change his name because entertainers take on stage names.  He looked out the window and saw a restaurant sign with the first three letters of the word Mandarin burned out.  He decided to take the name Darin when he saw that.
