As far as we know they haven't done screenings yet nor given any direct information from the movie to anyone, right? I just think it's pretty funny how they just say it might have music and it might be 15 songs but it might not be that either. Wouldn't Grace, who also gets intel from her film sources, also have this information before them? the 15 songs things is based on an article from variety, the number one holllywood trade publication

Yes technically they are covers, but they originate in a time when the songwriter was the famous one and singers sung the songs. No one calls Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon’ a cover even though the first recording was by Kaye Ballard in 1954. It’s because he made it his own. With any of these songs (most of which you might not have heard before) it’s a chance for Gaga to make them hers. Think ‘I will always love you’ by Whitney Houston vs Dolly’s original maybe. that’s all Yes, and Tony also made Fly Me To The Moon his own. Actually, with his phrasing and interpretation, Tony makes most anything he sings his own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLjXbkSm8B4 Tony interprets and phrases the song differently each time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziMIdY1WrGA And another interpretation from Tony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrOPHSeSlWw I would not be surprised if Gaga does the same with some songs in Joker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zqkgp6uBdU Edited March 25 by Ronk I live outside the space time continuum.

Yet I like Tony's and Gaga's interpretations much better than Sinatra's. Much more heart. When you listen to multiple recordings of Tony singing any of his songs, you find that he phrases the song differently each time. He is so old-school, and I love it. It sounds like they're not certain as I'm pretty sure it's all kept under wraps. The Joker and Harley Quinn are set to serenade audiences in “Joker: Folie à Deux,” but if, and how many original songs will be included in the film, is a mystery. Anyways, it's also possible that most of the songs are used in scenes as a background, or shortened like many said.
