I'm not a Meghan hater unlike many people here, but I don't get this album cover at all. What is it that I don't like??? There's something about the shades of black and blue that don't work in my eye

Also not a Meghan hater but the album cover isn't great. The gloves as an accessory are baggy while the rest of the outfit is tight, the arms and legs are crossed in opposite directions while she's sort of coming out of the circle which gives an odd perspective, that blue is really bold and would have worked better as a smaller piece of the outfit (especially since it's the background color??), the top part of the circle appears drawn while the bottom is a 3d structure, etc etc...

Love the concept, the growth itself is a little lacking but slay greatest hits album

the cover is pretty but her face is not serving.. either different pose or different expression

No hate but what growth?

If you told me All About That Bass, Me Too, Mother, and Made You Look were from the same album I'd believe you. The songwriting hasn't improved. The music sounds the same. The themes are the same.

The only outlier is No which is her best song

I wish she actually would grow through, musically, for a decade she’s released songs that sound like they’re from the same album.

Lol ok gurl.

I’m not a big Meghan fan but I just wanted to highlight that she did experiment with different sounds, she came on the scene with that retro doo-wop sound on her debut album then followed it with a more 2000’s Pop record meets EDM on her album “Thank You” with songs like “No” and “Me Too” which were quite different from the signature sound she established on her debut. The singles off her sophomore album did fairly well and so she wanted to take a full EDM Pop route on her third album “Treat Myself”, the singles kept underperforming and the album got pushed multiple times. Ultimately, on her fourth album her and her label decided it was time to return to the doo-wop sound that made her famous, hence the album title “Takin it back”. And it lowkey worked she started having mini hits/traction with songs like “Made You Look” , “Mother” and now “Been Like This”. Basically all the songs the GP or you guys might be familiar with are the ones that got traction which purposefully sound the same. I think artistic growth is good but I guess some artists/labels in the case of Meghan can’t afford it and rather stick to a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” strategy.

She just keeps on pumping out these albums, very impressive now that she's recently become a mother of two. It's also really something that she keeps up this trend of naming all her albums beginning with the letter T. I'm loving her new single, Been Like This and hope it becomes another hit for her, like it much more than Made You Look. Yeah, the album cover is a shambles but it wasn't like she was ever known for iconic covers anyway. She may not show the growth as an artist she claims but I love her carefree bops to cheer me up and make me happy and it'll be a great album to bop to in the summer.

“Growth as an artist”. It’s giving “kicking off 2021 like the true chameleon that I am” Dua Lipa quotes. :cyanlights:

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
