This is just further example of your projection though because you're associating what she said with bullying and discrimination which is too much imo

And this is gaslighting bullying victims

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Nobody is stopping them - but they sure are shaming them :)  And that’s fine- but if you’re gonna laugh at people, don’t expect them to handle that in the same way you would if lady Gaga made fun of you lol some people don’t want to be made to feel ashamed of what they like

I don’t even like hp or Disney like that but also I don’t find it cute to make fun of people who do

I literally said I wouldn’t care if someone tried to roast me for liking Gaga lmao Gaga herself could drag me for it and I wouldn’t care

This just in: thinking other people’s interests are silly is equivalent to systematic oppression. More at 7.

Eh, I honestly think people need to stop giving strangers undue power. Randos online have no authority in your life. Period.

Disgusting? Lmao. Y’all are comparing roasting Disney adults to LGBTQ+ people being systematically discriminated against. That’s *actually* disgusting.

I never understood these obsessions. And I don't even mean the Harry Potter/Disney adults.

To those who agree with Miriam - Why is it enjoyable to put down others because of what they like? So what if John and Kathy want to have a Harry Potter-themed wedding - maybe they met at Universal Studios and Harry Potter meant a lot to their relationship.

Like I don't get the infatuation with calling people out for what they like. I equate bashing "disney adults" and furries, etc. to homophobic people putting down members of LGTBQIA+ for what they like/don't like.

It's frankly super childish to me and I'll never understand why it's socially acceptable to bully others for this kind of thing.

But anyway.. let me get off my soap box for a bit.

thinking disney adults are weird is equal to homophobia? am i reading this right?

Harry Potter adults are the same as Disney adults and both groups deserve to be laughed at.

Because reality is so much fun, why would any adult need some escapism, right?

I feel like there needs to be a difference between real-world harms and differences of opinion. I'm a Gaga collector and probs take it waaay too seriously and my niece is always reading me for spending ridiculous amounts of money on Gaga stuff, she just thinks it's childlike (she's an adult too). Where's the discrimination ma'am

Assuming adults should be totally disconnected from their childhood is as stupid as stating things like boys shouldn’t cry. Out of all places, can’t quite believe I’m reading that on a forum dedicated to a woman who once emphatically declared she loathed reality.

Because these kind of comments make people feel like it’s not okay to be an adult but still love what you loved as a child.

im an adult doll collector i collect Barbie and fashion dolls and people love to say ignorant comments just like the ones made by this woman (who I never heard of)

instead, we should normalize and encourage people to embrace their inner child and the things they once loved and you still can love those things.  Let people enjoy what they enjoy and stay out of it if you don’t also enjoy it

it’s not “harmful” like if some rando actor is going to make you question all of yours interests and hobbies that’s a bigger self issue

Nobody’s saying that, tho? If you’ve ever heard Miriam speak, she’s got a pretty keen sense of the absurd and is playing up the irony here for comedic effect. I really don’t think it’s that deep.
