There's no rule that music eras can't crossover with one another. Eminem was promoting his 20 year old trackss when he collabed with Fortnite recently. Blaming the disaster that happened during the Chromatica era 100% on COVID is something I don't understand, it seems like an excuse from little monsters to try and justify what happened. Dua Lipa and The Weeknd released Future Nostalgia and After Hours during the pandemic, that did not stop them from executing flawless eras. Chromatica should have been one of the main events of the year, instead it came and went with a wimper. I am very glad she used her platform to help others during COVID but she could have done that and not left her album out to die in the way she did. She simply did not care enough about Chromatica to bother once some of her initial plans were thrown for a loop. It's valid And if you want to get technical Dua and Abel rollouts began in 2019. Gaga is not only one person, she has a whole team around her. Do you ever think that maybe they too were nervous about going forward due to catching the infection? It was a strange time in the world for everyone not just Gaga. There were bigger things needing addressing than music at the time. Her decision! Accept it. Fortunately enough she blessed us with a phenomenon tour which was a nice send off for Chromatica and now we can slowly enjoy LG7 which is getting closer. No disagreements here, I saw that tour and she was incredible, one of the best shows I have ever seen her put on. For me, it sorta validated the whole mess and the disappointment of the era and perhaps fittingly, the final show ended early and incomplete, could think of nothing better to sum up the Chromatica period. I don't mean to come across like I am being negative for no reason, it is just that I know what Gaga is capable of and I want to experience some of the greatness of those early rollouts again. Gaga had all of 2021 and the first half of 2022 to revive that era (as she was just fine doing LFS and movie promo), and we got a wine campaign, a few DOC posts, and a tour that was aesthetically unrelated. Let’s be honest, Gaga and her team’s intention was to keep that era in 2020. Hence the quick summer tour 2 months after the album release, hence making it sonically digestible, hence the big name collabs.
