U.S reportedly faces a serious "national security threat" (Russian orbital weapons)

So this morning, Congress members from both sides of the aisle started talking about receiving classified intel on a serious security threat.

As if 2022 and 2023 weren't bad enough  can we get LG7 in peace

Apparently Russia plans to deploy Orbital weapons which would allow it to take out satellite of other countries, such as nuclear command and control satellites, giving Russia the ability to use nukes without fearing a retaliation from other countries.

I'm really hoping it's not China planning to invade Taiwan or smth, because it seems we've been getting a new war ever year since covid

National Security Advisor mentions "defense professionals" participating in the meeting tomorrow. So this sounds like war or smth?

I'd be surprised if it was. The framing of this heavily implies a domestic threat and Sullivan refusing to comment on whether or not the public should be worried only furthers the perception of it being a domestic threat. 

But obviously outside of that we have the usual suspects of Iran & proxies + China like you mention. My personal hunch would be there's strong intel of an Iranian backed terror cell operation

I doubt republicans would be talking about this if it was election interference to help Trump. Also it's mentioned that it's a military matter, from the CNN article:
