See, I can see why people might think this song is sus, but the lyrics are “I’m a big boy, you’re a big girl now, I’m a big girl, you’re a big boy now.” If “now” were only included referring to the girl in the song, I could see why people might read this as a grooming/jailbait-y song, but I get the sense that the lyrics are literally just two people who knew each other when they were kids/teens and then hooking up as adults.

Well, no, it doesn't go both ways. It's about an adult man/men knowing a "little girl" and then seeing how much she's grown up and wanting to hook up with her now that she's an adult.

Well, the lyrics, as cited in my original post, quite literally do. But…okay!

If Just Dance had become popular at the same time it did in Canada/Australia/Sweden in the US then more attention would have been on her and she could have made this a hit in 2008. Then again, Chillin wasn't a big hit either and she was huge at the time.

At literally no point in the song is the reverse said. You're just straight up lying.

There’s a lot of ways these could be interpreted. It’s a lot different than songs in the 60s/70s that would have male artists straight up saying “I love her but she’s only 15” or the likes of. I get where you’re coming from, but knowing Gaga and even NKOTB why would they write and release a song like that? To me it reads as taking pleasure from taking a consensual partner’s virginity or like someone else said, childhood friends being FWBs or partners later in life, someone you had a crush on in your childhood. Maybe they could have alternated on lyrics like “I’m not no little girl no more / I’m not no little boy”. Girls have sung in songs too “I’m a big girl, I can handle it” or the likes of

The only "childhood" mentioned is hers so I don't understand where you guys keep pulling that childhood sweethearts false narrative from.

The first verse literally starts with "back in the days when YOU were young" referring to her. Like what's not clicking.

Not to fan the flames but it’s documented that she was dating a 26 year old when she was 15 and waiting tables after school. Not to mention that many younger girls have crushes on older guys. It doesn’t make it perverted or inappropriate unless you are specifically trying to label the lyrics as potentially grooming.
