I’m not gonna lie, she absolutely hasn’t proven herself as a legacy artist in my honest opinion. Yes she had hits but she hasn’t really influenced people which a legacy artist does. Plus she herself framed her last 2 albums as comebacks. So she clearly wants a comeback to form but unless she goes back to her old style and gets Luke to make her music again I can’t see that happening tbh.

This isn’t me saying she’s terrible by any means, I love her music but she is the Cyndi to Gaga’s Madonna

aww I feel the other way around. Katy has already cemented her legacy and is already an icon and a household name. whether she's going to be the most relevant or the hottest remains to be seen... most legacy artists just don't enjoy the chart-topping longevity Taylor Swift has.

personally, i'm not very excited about katy right now.... at least not yet

For me personally legacy =/= successful or household name it’s about influence. So many new acts come forward claiming to be inspired by the likes of Gaga and Beyoncé but I’ve never heard anyone say KP or even Taylor Swift really.

But if we talk about success Katy is known for her old hits more nowadays from 2008-2011 and same for Taylor since all her success lately is releasing already popular albums

There are a lot of artists who debuted after Katy Perry who specifically talked about how Teenage Dream had an impact on their careers. I Kissed a Girl as well. It would be impossible to release 3 hit albums and not be culturally significant enough to influence newer artists. Most artists who are successful influence others. I don't know how that can be separated.

Also when the newer acts talk about their influence with Gaga, its usually from 2008-2011 as well.

It was already confirmed that that guy broke up with his girl two months before he dated Ariana. But let’s say HYPOTHETICALLY he did cheat on his wife with Ariana, BLAME THE MARRIED MAN! It’s disgusting how you guys will tear down women and call her a home wrecker when none of this is confirmed and place NO BLAME on the man who supposedly stepped out on his wife. Blaming the mistress and not the married man is the epitome of misogyny and it’s gross that if your partner cheated on you it looks like you would blame the one he cheated with over the one who actually betrayed you

I'm a minsogynst because I'm not willing to believe the flimsy evidence Ariana paid her PR team to create as damage control right before an album release? Both relationships end back to back and they announce they are now together right after? Both exes state they were blindsided? Dubious circumstances at best.

I never said Ethan isn't at fault, he's as much of an idiot as she is but it takes two to tango. At the very least, Ariana could have told Ethan no. She didn't. She went ahead with it, and this was AFTER she met his wife and their CHILD. She clearly enjoys pursuing men who are already in committed relationships, and yes, while the man bears the onus for being the actual home wrecker, she could also just, you know... not pursue married/commited men?

She clearly gets off on doing this time and time again based on a long pattern in her past relationships. Every one of the men she played this dance with shares the blame, but to pretend like Ariana doesn't have a hand in each of them and especially now when a child is involved is like asking me to cover my eyes and block off my ears and just listen to her bops like nothings happening, which I would love to, but I really can't, sorry.

Current First Lady of the United States. Praying for my husband's death.

You have to know that people you listen to and enjoy have done really morally questionable things right? Especially with something like cheating/love/sex. Unless you are puritanical and also follow that guide on everything you use as entertainment.

Honestly, once the wife was calling every single major news source in the country to get this out the reps and “sources” from Ethan and Ariana’s camps have every right to respond and I don’t care if it’s a spin. His ex was spinning it to one direction from the start as well. “Ariana’s the story” “not a girls-girl” - Her fans are saying they feel like Ariana is exclusively getting the blame because that really came from the exes mouth. She said nothing about her own husband, oddly focusing on Ariana alone by name. It’s not all a coincidence. She wanted to get back at her, which ironically isn’t girls-girl behavior as well.

For things like this I like to look at Elizabeth Taylor vs Debbie Reynolds. Similar situation  with aspects different because they were all celebs, but Debbie didn’t go on a media tour to tell the story and explain what she thinks happened. She just focused on her work, which is great for her career- and more importantly her children. It’s not good to tie up their names in press like this that will be lasting. She just let it all play out, which it did. Elizabeth’s career was barely impacted as she was an undeniable star, and Eddie’s crashed. People didn’t like that HE broke up HIS family. Elizabeth cheated on him in an even bigger onset affair scandal -Cleopatra - and years later Debbie and her laughed about it all.

I do feel bad for Ethan’s ex wife, but feel even worse that someone allowed or advised her to go speak/respond to Page Six. I don’t know if she has reps, but a friend in nyc couldn’t tell her?

Even though I'm not a fan, I think there really was no real reason for the public to hate Witness, so I hope she does well this time around
