JazzGa 14,611
Do yall think it will be original songs or covers? Personally I hope there are at least a couple of iconic cryin-in-my-whiskey old school outlaw country covers... Blue Bannisters and Ocean Blvd. are great but they sort of lack that world building her past albums had. Even though Chemtrails was similar to NFR the vibes are more middle America / less California. It’s like a Pt. 1 and Pt. 2. Blue Bamnisters is like, a diluted Chemtrails. And Ocean Blvd. is a good collection of songs but doesn’t have a sonic uniformity her other albums have. She literally said at her speech at the billboard thing: ''The music business is going country. We're going country. It's happening.''. So yes I do think it's her intention and she AND her team/producers are smart with the timing. Any more questions?

StrawberryBlond 14,588
Clearly its been something she's been edging towards for a while, from Chemtrails onward. There will obviously be a Lana edge to all it all, long time fans need not worry. I'm expecting something in the vein of Breaking Up Slowly, Violets For Roses and Sweet. She may well do collabs with old school country names, some of which she's friendly with. I just love how she keeps going and keeps us all fed, regardless of how successful the album is. She's wise to follow this up so soon after being nominated so heavily at the Grammys, so if she wins anything, it may skew very well into the next era. 4th Time Around 4,233
I feel like a lot of you have false ideas of what country music even is or the foundations of the genre. The popular perception of country music now has shifted so far from its roots that the two are unrecognizable. Lana has already explored this sound on Chemtrails and combined it with 70's singer-songwriter vibes, making the album a hybrid between og country and the 70's. I don't really expect this album to be all that different, it will still feel exactly like a Lana album even if she is pulling from things that some of you don't seem to associate with Lana even though she has done country sounds before. The only real question is how hard she is going to lean into those sounds? Hey, I'm king of the world, you ought to hear my song, you come on measure me, I'm twenty inches long

I’m only afraid it won’t lean too much into the country territory… like her Country Roads cover just kinda stripped all the personality out of the song and if that’s what we need to expect… She would do well with strings, guitar licks, classic 60s/70s country. Yeah, that was my main complaint with Chemtrails, she flirted with these ideas and sounds but never really followed them through in a convincing way. The album did not feel all that cohesive or authentic. I just wish she had taken it a step further.
