Not sure if anyone has replied to your post but often songs are registered on BMI before official release, the ones that become “public” before official release tend to be songs that aren’t making the Final Cut of an album or session, but they still get registered for legal reasons so no one can steal the songs and claim them as their own and release them.

Maybe then some of this fan base can regain some of their sanity. 
 

We need group therapy. Especially now that it’s pretty clear that we are waiting until some Point next year (if it’s not entirely scrapped by then)
