Yeah I’m convinced he’s likely going to be president again. Biden managed to present himself as a calm, reliable candidate coming in mid pandemic and even then it was very tight. I still don't think he has it in him His base is a cult in the worst way and he struggles with independents. God, he may not even be a free man come November. Meanwhile, most of the support peeling off of Biden is from young voters and POC, and they're not defecting to Trump/Republicans, that's for sure. When it comes down to the two of them, I believe Biden will win for a few reasons. 1) He's not Trump. Easily the biggest reason 2) Any defectors will begrudgingly take him over Trump and pull for a more progressive candidate in 2028. 3) He actually hasn't done a bad job as president so far perception among the public and media is one thing but it doesn't directly translate to actual votes. Polls say as much, as real votes outpace "favorability ratings". 4) Democrats are still sweeping elections. 5) Biden and Democrats as a whole are literally setting records with how much money they're pulling in from small donors. He's sitting on a massive war chest and every breath Trump takes offers free ammunition to keep him unpopular with Independent voters. PartySick 172,975 Posted January 16, 2024 Share Posted January 16, 2024 On topic again, it's funny to note that yeah, this was a landslide victory for Dumpy but a few things stick out for me. 1) This was the lowest turnout for Iowa in decades 2) 49% of the Republicans that voted went with somebody else 3) The winner of the Iowa caucus went on to lose the primary, and therefore the election, in 2008, 2012, and 2016 4) Between now and the New Hampshire primary, Trump has to attend a court hearing in NYC where the woman he raped in the 90s is suing him for defamation for a second time.
