We are constantly fed fear by mainstream media - not to take away from the horrors that a lot of people are facing around the world - but honestly no one wants WW3, even the most craziest and powerful leaders know it will end in mutually assured destruction.

I used to be so scared of WW3 happening but honestly the best thing to do is live each day as it comes rather than think too far ahead.

Chromatica will live on forever.

I doubt that there will be a Massive World War. The global economy is too fragile for that.

If China tries to directly invade Taiwan then it would be more like what happened to Ukraine, when the conflict is only situated in the region where it's being held.

The U.S. will be involved, but it won't have the same intensity as in WW2. Countries guaranteed to be involved are Japan, South Korea, and The Philippines. But I doubt, they'll send a massive counter-offensive toward mainland China. Their main goal is probably just to repel China away from Taiwan. Support logistics and other deterrence measures.

However, the Economic ramifications of a war with South Korea, China, and Japan are dangerous and damaging.

Technological goods will be affected and so is car manufacturing.

River

we're already at war, it's just the western countries citizens are sitting at home, living their good lives, while other countries are fighting for them and their citizens are dying, drugged out of their homes, losing their every right to live.

But a WWIII is inevitable and it's gonna be a good wake up call to all the spoiled brats of the western countries.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

The US will b even more divided. Also, another point not taken into consideration is RELIGION. All kinds, especially the more prominent ones like Christianity have been losing their footing on the people. I been reading religious books and to b honest, there will b a war on religion. Why? She has been meddling in political affairs for millenia. It will not b pretty. The government is tired of her.  I mentioned here before that "Government Hooker" might reference Babylon the Great mentioned in the Bible. She sleeps with "the kings of this world" and has dealings with merchants/ businessmen. Ultimately these "kings"/lovers turn their back on her and betray her a la "Judas". She is stripped of all her wealth and "flesh". She will be "exposed" as fraudlent and a liar, and the government(s) will want all the riches she had stored. So what might happen is we will go into a brink of war, people will cry for peace, then the government (s) will order the fall of religion. All this = WW3.

Um this is limited to the WEST. Russians today continue to fight hard for their country and for Putin, despite the fact it's a wrong cause. And I have no doubt that the Chinese will do the same.

What you mentioned is not a guaranteee that WW3 won't happen, it's only a guarantee that the West will be less likely to win it.

I read before that WW will not be the like the ones in the past. Internet and modern technology definitely changed the landscape of warring.

So, I've been thinking about the last 3 years and it seems things keep getting worse and worse. Conflicts are becoming more violent. Tensions are rising. Are we on the verge of WW3 and we don't know yet? Much like the Europeans sensed the tensions rising in the mid 1930s but didn't know what was coming.

Russia-Ukraine: continues to be a major escalation. Yesterday Russia threatened Finland, and today they sent a missile to intentionally cross Polish Airspace. Clearly they're sensing an America deprioritization of Europe and are starting to bully Finland and Poland. Europe's inability to sustain aid to Ukraine has convinced Russia that the Russian Industrial Complex is superior and can be favored in a long-term conflict.

Israel-Hamas: Needless to say, major source of tensions.

Houthis vs International Maritime Trade: Houthis in Yemen continue to threaten, distrupt or capture commercial tankers, leading many companies to halt Suez Canal traffic.

Iran proxies vs U.S: The U.S. military has already come under attack at least 100 times in the Middle East since October. This is a ticking bomb, one attack that goes too far and kills many U.S soldiers could start an uncontrollable spiral of escalation.

Azerbaijan vs Armenia: continues to be a source of tensions with short episodes of violence.

China vs Taiwan: This is the big one, if it were to happen, it'd officially start WW3. If this starts, expect violence to erupt all over the world. Russia will ramp up attacks on Europe, benefiting from U.S busyness with the pacific. Iran will probably attack Israel.

I honestly think we're closer than ever to WW3. There are three fronts: Europe, Middle East and Asia. The U.S simply cannot deal with all 3. The only thing that stands between the world and total chaos, is Xi Jinping's decision on whether to invade Taiwan or not. And the busier U.S gets with all of these other conflicts, the more inclined China will be to invade them.

So it Christmas and people are alone and unhappy and you decided to start a thread like this !

I agree. China taking over Taiwan will not lead to a world war III. It won't, it will be a regional conflict, as you said, and people in Thailand, Andorra and Uruguay wouldn't know there is a war on Taiwan if media wouldn't tell them.

America will try to deliver weapons onto Taiwan to provoke a Chinese attack on it, as long as US still is military-wise superior to China.

America will then try to use Taiwanese people as cannon fodder like they did in Ukraine, but the Taiwanese willingness to fight themselves is extremely low, and America won't sacrifice its own soldiers [because such a president is not gonna be re-elected and China will wait for a re-electable US president], which will prevent the war from getting too big. America is only directly bullying in wars weak nations but not nations that can fight back because the counter-attack will lead to a dramatic decrease of popularity for any US president.

The US will abuse it to impose sanctions on China to slow its economic rise but it won't take the risk of a direct war, considering Taiwan is not a US state neither a NATO member.

China maybe will not attack Taiwan at all within the next 15 years.

And Taiwan might be smart and behave in such a way that it will find a peaceful way of co-existing with China. If Taiwan doesn't antagonize mainland China, there's no urgent reason for it to attack.

China-Taiwan-US will be worldwide economic sanctions escalation but not wwIII.

You can’t send a mass army and gather recruits if your people refuse tbh

I wish that was the case, but young men are forced to go onto war if governments choose a war and they, the young men, are lured with money and threatened with punishments if they will not go to war. This system works because those who are not called into draft are more likely to support and keep a system where others are sent into draft and then war. And in 2060, there will be cyborgs, military robots and artifical soldiers that are digitally programmed to not say "no" to a draft.
