It’s the only song that lyrically is otherworldly on Chromatica, the only real escape from reality. She claims “we could be anything!” While singing about dragons eyes, mysterious men and phantom women, when all She needs is something more to believe in. At its core, its 90s house with a pounding kick drum, soaring vocals, relentless bass line, and groovy disco violins. The more you listen the better it gets. Replay may give the instant gratification y’all (and me occasionally) are searching for, but Enigma is the heart of Chromatica.
