Surprising Gaga Single Choices?

I was surprised when I first heard Stupid Love because quite frankly I didn’t think that she would release electropop songs anymore.

I assumed that she was going to release her version of pop music which would always be more organic sounding. I was obsessed the second I heard the Stupid Love leak.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I assumed that Gaga would make Bieber-esque tropical house music since she was working with Bloodpop.

I was 12 when Judas came out and I was a little scared by it tbh and was surprised she released it as a single

I was surprised that G.U.Y. was chosen over MANiCURE or Gypsy

For Million Reasons, I was wary that they were dropping a ballad after PI didn’t make any noise. I was scared it would bore people, maybe it’s just cause I was a little. It wasn’t until album release that I fully accepted Joanne’s vibe :anveeroy:

Not giving Sour Candy even a Bloody Mary style release (radio, merch, social media promo, but no video) as a final hoorah for Chromatica was also a surprising move. But then again, Haus of Gaga/ Interscope didn’t even give 911 a chance on the radio :smh: BLACKPINK fans would’ve pushed tf out of SC and I think it would’ve gotten some decent radio play

It depends where I guess, in Italy 911 was aired a lot: I remember traveling with friends by car and listening to the radio and they played it 3 times in a hour or something like that, or maybe it was playing in multiple stations. It was a shortened edit though, they removed the bridge for no reason

Yeah I mean globally. Unfortunately it was only released in France and yeah, Italy.

I was also surprised Alejandro was picked as 3rd single and not Dance In The Dark. I remember both songs getting released as promo singles at the same time but then removed so I thought DITD was a stronger song but still happy to see what she did with Alejandro and it was HER choice.

Alejandro was the first Gaga song I heard as a kid and I became an instant fan. Best choice for a third single imo.
