Oh, you stated that you were spitting out "facts" below. You better be clear. Not gonna lie, your point of view about formats is so dated. We are not on the same music industry like 13 years ago? Streaming and merch are now a thing. Also focus on my point.

Good for her that’s she able to move that many units, I’m just stating facts, there are many artists who are able to move solid numbers with only 2-3 formats. It’s not just Taylor swift who does this, I think it’s getting pretty ridiculous of how many versions of the same album get released. Also narrative must be Taylor swifts/her fans favourite word to use when getting called out/critiqued for anything lol.

It is not ridiculous to put out various formats in terms of music. At the end of the day, you should carefully think of how marketing works. During 2010s, iTunes was a thing and a lot of artists literally discounted their crafts into 99 cents on first week? As the world adapts to the demands of the society, artists tend to cater what their market desires so what's wrong?

Taylor's team knows how to play their cards. Just like what you have said, she is a high demand with a huge fan base? She gotta feed her fans. She is dedicated and passionate, and I admire Taylor's work ethics.

What is it every time some even slight talks bad about Taylor Swift it’s a feminism thing ? Is that the only defence ? I never downplayed her success or saying she did it in the wrong way I simply said of how selling numerous variants equals big numbers , that’s a fact ? I’m so tired of Taylor swift fans using weaponised feminism or making it an issue when she’s slight critiqued.

You literally used the album variant argument to downplay her sales vs Adele's 30 album sales in 2015.

That's the definition of downplaying. "Yes she sold more than X, but X had less variants than her and still pulled in numbers".

I don’t think it’s fair to compare the success to Taylor swifts reissue to Adele’s 2015 album.

Well, good luck on eliminating comparison on records. I get your point, but your point is so dated. You should probably time travel to 2010s where discounting albums into 99 cents are a thing for securing a huge first week sales. And oh, Taylor still broke the record. :bye:

And not cuz Taylor has 4(or 5 not sure) variants but cuz Adele had her ORIGINAL album, meanwhile Taylor’s having a re-recording of an old album.

Exactly. She DID THAT with a re-recorded old album.

This narrative is getting so tiring lol

She slayed every expectation and it's an immense achievement, a real fking legacy

It’s not a narrative tho it’s a plain fact lol. It’s undeniable how record breaking she is number-wise but it’s also hard to deny how much she/her team does consciously to inflate them. Whether you look at that positive or negatively is up to you

The way some Swifties get so offended by people stating their opinions :franminervini: your fave is already the #1 artist in the world, you don’t need to prove anything :franminervini:

It’s crazy how you’ve taken time out of your day to write a whole essay on trying to correct me on how artists sell albums. It is a FACT of how some people wouldn’t sell so many albums if they didn’t have as many formats and don’t “better” me anything or become aggressive. Just plain psycho behaviour all over a comment on a forum.

Then you should have not quoted me and replied if you didn't care. :ohwell: You didn't even stay on topic, you focused your replies on me and not with the discussion. Keep up with knowledge! Stay bothered with Taylor's tactics and success, love. :lolly:

It wouldn't sell if she is not a high demand with a huge fan base just like what you have said. The general public won't buy it if they don't care about Taylor. The GP cares tho, that's a fact too. :huntyga:

And like The Rolling Stone's 'Hackney Diamonds' release with 43 vinyl variants, did they pull sky-rocketing numbers? They did pull pretty numbers still and that is amazing for they are legends (no need to downplay artists), but going back, your opinion is not a fact. :kara:

Right so I'm not a swiftie.

I just think it's hilarious that a fanpage dedicated to a popstar that on the reg discusses Gaga's chart ability & the financial prospects of her projects - are pissed off that people who like other singers are talking about it as well? And that those other singers are pulling bigger numbers.

Right!

If Gaga pulled achievements like this? I'll be happy. Actually, not just me but this forums will collapse with discussions and excitement. I miss Gaga. I know she'll be on the spotlight for the Joker 2 release, but I miss her. For now I'll be enjoying my new 'Bloody Mary' vinyl variant! :fatcat:

Taylor supports Gaga as she always play 'Applause' as a pre-concert track in The Eras Tour. It irks me to see some fellows here be shady to Taylor. We are having free promo because of Tay. :anveeroy:
