I'm gonna digress a bit here. Sorry in advance.

One thing I've never really got about Taylor's new recording is that it's just the old songs with some slight production differences (mostly). I get that she's reclaiming the rights, blah blah. And that's cool. Still, I have no idea why anyone would run out a buy a slightly different version of a song or album that already exists.

Like, if Gaga just re recorded The Fame? And it was basically the same? idk. I can't see myself caring all that much. It'd be a cool novelty, but that's it. 

(And I know that I'm clearly in the minority! Taylor is simply killing it.)

But can you imagine Gaga totally reimagined The Fame? Turning each song into piano ballads? Like what she does with Poker Face et al., at her jazz shows in Vegas? I would die.

Gaga doesn't need a record label anymore but I hope that she will create her own with safe & equal contracts to help the next artists generations. Don't forget NO ARTISTS = NO LABELS.
