omg im lowkey scared for Bob's voice for this tour? he's mentioned on Sibling Rivalry how easy it is for him to damage/lose his voice and how he has had multiple surgeries on his vocal cords. nevertheless, I am SOOOO proud and excited that he got this gig!! theres like 600 RuGirls at this point and she chose him! :kara:

also mega excited to see the concert in SF in Feb  already got 3 days off of work for it and im thinking of getting a hotel and just partying up in the city before and after the concert

This tour is phenomenal!! I didn’t expect her to slay so hard tbh. She gave us main stadium/arena tour vibes yet somehow kept the intimate performance piece from Madame X Tour. It feels like a Madonna art installation

So night 3 was amazing.

Also there is way more to the AIDS epidemic tribute than shown in the videos of Live to Tell. It's had me fighting back tears.

Spoiler

So the first section obviously is themed around her starting off in NYC in the early 80s ending with Holiday.

As Holiday ends, the dancers slowly leave the stage except 1 & the disco ball descends. Madonna starts singing Holiday more sparsely and somberly as the remaining dancer starts "dying" and falling to the floor. Ending with Madonna knelt over his body as she puts her jacket over him & the lights go dim as they descend int othe floor.

I SOBBED.

The combination of the Holiday ending, the In This Life interlude while Madge gets into position, the beauty of Live to Tell & then the transition into Like a Prayer makes for a really powerful & poignant moment. It feels like she was conveying a massive crisis of faith as a result of the AIDS crisis and honestly I can't sing the section's praises enough.

Magically my tickets for the 18th actually came ! And my goodness what a night, I’ve got a new found respect for Madonna. She was just incredible all night, every song was just perfection and she knew how to keep the audience engaged all night, my favourite segment was when she performed Erotica and Vogue, Julia Fox joined her I couldn’t believe it ! So much fun with lots of deep tributes to people throughout her career. Bob was fantastic too, still my favourite winner ! Feel very lucky to have seen this iconic artist and incredible show.

So I saw last night’s show in Antwerp, here’s a short little review.

The show started over an hour late (21:40), which was a bit of a buzzkill. But when she opened the show with Nothing Really Matters, I was so taken by her presence. I thought the whole first act was strong, despite some technical difficulties during Burning Up. The Live To Tell performance was stunning, my favorite moment of the evening.

The second half of the show is more shaky, with lots of interludes and dance breaks. She got the crowd going with Hung Up (despite using a horrible intro for it) and La Isla Bonita, but only performed short versions of hits like these. The Bad Girl performance was another highlight for me, great vocals and a lovely mother-daughter moment.

The choice to do Bedtime Story, Ray Of Light and Rain in that order towards the end of the show is honestly risky, the crowd was dead during these lesser known songs. She did create a nice moment prior to this by telling the crowd about her illness last summer and covering I Will Survive.

The finale was a bit of a letdown to me. Give Me All Your Luv and Bitch I’m Madonna are horrible closers and she was noticeably tired. Also I could have done without the weird little theatre moments with Bob throughout the show.

Higlights: the opening and first act, Live To Tell, Mother and Father, Human Nature, La Isla Bonita, Bad Girl, Hung Up.

I just hope that she brings the show to Asia. My only time seeing her live was when she brought Rebel Heart Tour to Hong Kong. It’s just so different seeing it live. I have never seen a show that has so much attention to details and it’s like every moment, even the interludes and dance moves are there for a purpose.

I just hope that I get a chance to see her perform live again. Considering her age, this tour is probably one of the last few ones that she can still dance and sing like that.

You did not just call Ray of Light, the lead track from her most critically acclaimed & well loved album a "lesser known song"

Gurl. Car park. Now. lol:grr:
