And the Palestinians have been keeping LGBT+ under even worse conditions.

Also this is not an LGBTQ+ issue and the more this gets brought up the more it just reeks of attention seeking btw

Palestine is a nation under illegal occupation facing a genocide. Statements like this do nothing but fuel support for the plan to completely eradicate an entire ethnic group. Is that what you want? Do you want to see Israel move in and kill every last man, woman, and child in Palestine?

Don’t deflect, either.

Answer.

It wasn’t unprovoked. Wrong? 100%. Unprovoked? No.

Hope this helps.

Tell me how did the civilians provoke Hamas? Or are you saying it's okay to deliberately kill civilians as a retaliation against their government?

A better question would be how and why Israelis keep electing a ****ing war criminal with an extremist racist mindset like Netanyahu, whose party include hate-inciting figures like Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, who LITERALLY called for a Palestinian town to be wiped out.

You don't see Palestinian officials saying sh-t like this but Israeli government says it all the time.

correction, neither smotrich nor ben-gvir are members of likud.

Civilians didn’t provoke Hamas. Israel’s government provoked Hamas into attacking. They’ve been doing it for decades.

Make no mistake, Israel’s government is thrilled with this because it’s gonna give them the green light to commit all the war crimes they want with impunity which they have already started.

It’s not okay to kill civilians in retaliation against the government, hence my continued condemnation of Hamas’ actions. However, continued attacks against Palestinian citizens on the part of Israel, threats to cut off Palestine from the power grid, continued illegal occupation of land, and calls for a genocide of Palestinians have baited Hamas into doing this.

Israel’s government continuously provokes this sort of action and then plays hurt puppy when they get a response.

What Hamas did is wrong. Incredibly wrong. Vile. Disgusting. A complete and total crossing of a line. Cannot stress this enough for those here who seem to be intent on framing every pro-free Palestine person as pro-terrorism.

That doesn’t mean this wasn’t provoked. It’s all provoked. The whole war is provoked. Israel’s actions are what caused Hamas to form in the first place.

Just because something was provoked doesn’t mean it’s right, I’m not sure why people here seem to think saying a provoked action means it’s inherently a defensible or just one.

If the victims of a crime did not provoke the criminal, then the crime is considered unprovoked.

As such, considering you said yourself that the civilians did not provoke Hamas, well then, their murder is considered unprovoked.

Now if Hamas targeted members of the Israeli government or the Israeli army, you could say it's provoked. But in this case, it's fair to say that the deliberate crimes against the civilians are unprovoked.

It doesn’t work that way, I’m afraid.

The Israeli government and IDF has been attacking and killing innocent Palestinian civilians. The counter they received is an attack on Israeli civilians.

It isn’t right. Not in the slightest. But that is provocation. Nothing that was done to Israel in the last couple days hasn’t been done to Palestine in the past.

I don’t know where you’ve gotten this silly idea that something is only provocation if the retaliation is on the provocateur but that’s not how it works.

If I intentionally riled up an aggressive animal and that animal ended up attacking another person, I would still be the provocateur, I would still be the one who provoked the attack, even if I don’t personally face those consequences.

One day everyone will realize Israel’s government doesn’t really care if Israeli civilians get killed because that happening just gives them permission to keep pushing their plans for a genocide. These people aren’t dumb. This is not a surprise to them. They knew this eventually was going to happen and they still kept on.

I’m just so, so, so sorry for the innocent Israeli’s who are getting used as pawns and collateral by their government.

I thought we were talking about human brains and how they perceive provocation, but maybe your comparison is spot on. Because if these individuals don't realize that deliberately searching for civilians to kill/kidnap is not the proper way to react to the Israeli government, then maybe they have the brain of a wild animal.

Ah yes, comparing people to animals again are we? :spin:

And before you start, you know damn well what point @Future Lovers was trying to make.

The leaps you take to twist basic logic because you seem to be so petrified by the truth is astounding. For now, I’ve no interest in continuing this conversation with you if you’re not willing to speak on it in good faith.

If you don’t want to acknowledge that Israel is a genocidal nation that has spent decades doing the exact same things we’re all so disgusted Hamas did but to Palestinians then that’s on you.

If you want to pretend this attack exists in a vacuum and came out of the blue then go ahead.

But I hope you’re reserving this same energy for when Israel moves in and murders thousands and thousands of Palestinians in a disproportionate retaliation that will ramp up their move for an ethnic cleansing.

I'm not twisting basic logic. I used an example of how legal standards would factor in provocation as a mitigating factor, but instead you chose to use wild animal as an example, when we're talking about people. Yes a wild animal would attack people randomly when provoked, but a human being with a brain would know better. That's the point. These attacks are unprovoked, because the people who had their homes broken into, taken hostage, killed, did not provoke these crimes.

Yes Israel has done a lot of reprehensible things. But I'm not gonna use that to distract from the current tragedy. I'm able to condemn terrorism when I see it, without the need to bring up the victims nation's entire history and what they did wrong. More appropriate to separate that discussion.

And yes unfortunately, Israel's response will be harsh. I would stop all of this bloodshed if I could. But I wish Hamas did not upend the status quo for the worse, when it was already bad enough.

Y'all are so embarrassing. Are you really discussing wether innocent people deserve to get killed or not just because either governments are assholes? Yikes.

This is beyond rich coming you. Don't you literally think that when Ukraine fights back against Russia (including striking cities in Russia or raiding the Belgorod border - both of which resulted in civilian deaths) is all justified because Ukraine resists occupation from a foreign power? And when anything happens, ''fu** Russia anyways they started it''.

Not that you didn't support Israel before this incident (you did - talk about bias), but now the cracks in logic are even more apparent. Despite being vocal and labelling everything and everybody you disragee with as ''pro-Russian shils'' and the likes, you seem to only be intersting in promoting America's agenda and your stances change on the particular INstances when you express your opinions.

When Palestinian women and children were getting set on fire and blown up over the past years by the IDF and violent settlers, where was the removal of aid to Israel?

This is a genocide. Period.

The fact that the US and EU could be allies with a government that unapologetically calls the entirety of Gaza “animals” speaks volumes.

And I hope the world never forgets that Israel has the ability to cut power, food, and water to Palestine with the backing of the most power nation in the world. That is the difference between Israel and Palestine.

@Bambino Me being a Muslim Arab doesnt mean I will take your side or agree with you. The way you were acting makes all of us look bad, and thats why I kept criticizing you. When you talk about these subjects, you have to be a bit more responsible. And trust me, im the biggest anti Israel person, but I cant let my emotions blind my logic and humanity.
