Nemo 4,411
2 hours ago, Ronald Allen said: this people is why we need Term Limits , you shouldn't be able to go to DC and make a living off of just blocking the other parties judges and big pharma. He was elected in 1984 !! before many of us were born and has messed up the supreme court for his own parties power. He wanted back at the democrats for something that happened in the 80s involving a supreme court seat. He blocked Obama for 234 days and gave that to trump, then when RBG passed away he changed his tune and became a hypocrite about confirming Judges during election years and Amy Coney Barrett was stole from the democrats seat forever changing makeup of the SC. All of that is true, but none of it is an argument for term limits. All that term limits would do is to make sure that no one in the legislature gained much experience at their job. In no other profession would we see that as an advantage, and it's not one here, either.
Lucas 31,255
A man who is mentally/physically not able to answer questions should not take decisions for a country. This is why I absolutely hate politicians, left or right.

Natalia Kills 420
Jesus, some of you folks are as toxic as the people you complain about. Sure the guy is problematic but celebrating someone having a medical event is an extremely low bar. I don’t like him one bit but I’m not exactly cracking open the champagne at this. I believe he had a concussion a while back which is why he’s freezing because it takes a lot to recover fully (if ever) from one.

Sure, in general, but Mitch is the most-senior Republican in the entire country. He is the leader of the Republican party that's currently trying to destroy our democracy. He's detested for a much bigger reason than being "problematic." Everything Republicans are pushing is because he agreed to it.

Though I think it's reasonable to say it's more nuanced than that and cannot solely be attributed to him. Leaders themselves have a much weaker influence than we'd imagine, it's usually those around them that are pulling the strings. In my perspective, if someone takes to laughing at people's health or age as a way to point score politically, they are part of the toxicity that's damaging democracy and enabling tribalism in the long run. We might as well just open up a MAGA phrasebook and swap some of the names around.

Leblanc 2,494
I'm just gunna say this now because aint tagging everyone who responded but you guys are wild. I aint American and I don't know **** about this dude, but I hate that this is the world we live in now. I hated a lot of politicians in my time but I'd be the last to say I wish I could watch them die. That statement alone is ****ed, the world is ****ed, we're moving towards the world going back into conservative and religious values and I don't wanna be and flagrantly aggressive with my words when it does. We all need to chill and I might have to log off this site closer to the American presidential race if I have to read such casual death wishes on a pop forum site Coven Season

Wishing someone would pass and not feeling bad when they do get ill is different from enacting laws and policies that do kill people. Over the past 40 years (yup) he's sponsored, spearheaded, or voted for numerous policies that promote discrimination, widened the gap between the lower and middle clases, essentially put guns in the hands of children, and killed people. He might not be the only one but he's a ring-leader. He's disgraced Congress with his actions, such as blocking of Obama's Supreme Court nomination due to the upcoming election but then turning around and allowing Trump's. It's not a surprise that people want him gone, if even by death. I understand it's upsetting to see people wish death on a human being. But when that human being has spent a hefty amount of his life lining the pockets of him and his friends at the expense of 300,000,000 people, I can't blame them for wanting the suffering to stop.
