Prior to this week, Oliver Anthony Music had not appeared on any Billboard chart in any form, making him the first such artist ever to debut atop the Hot 100.

Officially released Aug. 11, “Rich Men North of Richmond” drew 17.5 million streams and sold 147,000 downloads in the tracking week ending Aug. 17, according to Luminate. Not being promoted to radio, the song also tallied 553,000 radio airplay audience impressions, the bulk on country stations.

You can really tell conservatism is on the rise in America with that top 4

América has almost always been conservative. Where I work even the young people (16-30) are conservative and "Christian ".

Taylor should have done SOMETHING to push cruel summer. A quick tour music video, a lyric video, some remixes…. Anything?!?!

The worst top 5 actually. The lack of taste. The vanilla ice cream, with vanilla syrup and vanilla sprinkles......

Billboard really needs to get creative in combating how easily manipulated their charts are. This is not the first, just the most recent and TRAGIC in a long series of chart manipulation. If they don't get this under control, they'll continue to move toward irrevelancy.

The song that hit #1 was def preventing so a lot of swifties stopped buying/streamin for the time so it lost steam but everyone’s trying to get it to #1 this next cycle

Can you explain exactly how chart manipulation occurred this week?
