That's not how the law works in the US. Even for private figures, it's very lax, but for public figures...anything goes. I mean Barack Obama's horrible brother has gone on Fox News and recently was on twitter calling him all sorts of names, Jon Voight has used Anglina's name for years, even though he's famous in his own right, to spew hate.

If anything, if she asked Fox I'm convinced they'd attack her and accuse her of trying to infringe on their first amendment rights (they attacked her before).

The way some of y'all are somehow shifting the blame to Gaga is f*cking insane. Yeah, Fox News is a terrible piece of sh*t "news" service and Joe constantly going on there is beyond stupid and idiotic of him to do. But calling Gaga "lazy" for not stopping him? What can she do to stop him? She can talk to him all she wants, and for all we know, she has, but at the end of the day, he's a grown adult and he's gonna do whatever he wants to do. It's a shame that he decides to put his energy on Fox News and perpetuate right-wing sentiments, but he isn't doing anything illegal that Gaga can get him for.

We know that Gaga has very different viewpoints than her father. What more does she need to prove? She's done so much advocacy in her career, more than all of us on this website combined. The way some of y'all are trying to make this about Gaga and her activism again, as if you learned nothing from the migraine ad situation, is so tiring.

I’m not saying to stop him from his thoughts or political ideias but to not have her name involved on it so ridiculously. I mean he can have his right on that topic but I cannot believe that there’s no way where she can also have rights towards her name no matter what. 
I understand he’s her dad but it’s very uncomfortable to see all that especially after everything she has been through on her personal and profissional life and also the way he already trashed her on the media.

In regards to Fox, she has zero grounds to sue due to the first amendment and being a public figure. Same with her father. Fox would have to do something like claim "Lady Gaga agrees with her father" for her to have any grounds. Also, the US is notoriously lax when it comes to this sort of thing.

I mean, there are multiple examples of similarly messy situations in the US. The most prominent one being President Obama's horrible brother who has gone on Fox News repeatedly, who has sh*t talked him, etc. (and just did so yet again the other day). There's also Jon Voight, who despite being famous in his own right is often introduced as "actor and Angelina Jolie's father" when he goes on Fox (I know, as I've seen the clips on twitter).

Obviously, we don't know Gaga—but considering Fox News has attacked her in the past and is the opposite of what she believes in—it stands to reason she's asked him to privately shut up. The only thing she can do is publicly call him out. But while he's doing something incredibly f*cked up, I can see why someone might hesitate to publicly get in a spat with their own father (especially as Joe has to be pushing 80). Not to mention she might feel like she shouldn't have to do so....as someone shouldn't be held responsible for their parents actions. And the depressing angle to this mess: narcissists often lash out. If Joe is a hardcore narc, publicly calling him out could make it even worse. Look at how Meghan Markle's narc sister got even worse when she called them out.

It's sad, but I feel like she has no good solution to this mess. The only thing she can really do is publicly call him out, but there are definite risks to that (as stated above) and reasons why she might not want to do so. And this is way inappropriate of me (an overstepping) but the person I really wonder about is Cynthia. Like sadly, white Democratic women stay married to MAGA people all the time and try and justify it. But how can she continue to justify it when he goes on a news station that has attacked her own daughter multiple times?
