I'm sure they're great people who did great things for modelling, but this photoshoot just reminds me how vain, shallow and frivolous "celebrity" modelling is . 

Why do we worship these people? The pictures aren't even good compared to other many other editorial/glamor photoshoots with unknown models. Especially considering all the life was edited out of their faces.

This is giving zero effort on all accounts and the world praises them for it.

The cover is really not that good.

They don’t even look like they’re in the same photoshoot. The lighting looks different on all four of them.

Compare that to the original iconic photo of them in Jeans and a t-shirt bare faced, this cover isn’t good at all. 
 

The picture of them all four in jeans is way better, and closer to the original image.

American Vogue really has a problem with lack of creativity in their covers. They also somehow choose the worst image for their covers and save the best one for inside the magazine.
