Why is ARTPOP always singled out?

I prefer all of the demos, they're more ARTPOP than the album itself

I don't know why but to me Venus demo sound more like it's from another space

I think the swinefest btw was the peak of the era, everything was crazy and all the songs are great !!

My biggest gripe with ARTPOP is that Gaga wrote lyrics to mostly finished instrumental demos. This proved to be true when the concept demos from Zedd and Madeon leaked over time. 
 

On every album prior, Gaga was heavily involved in the sound and instrumental production while writing the lyrics. And it made a huge difference.
 

The mood and message of the lyrics matched the instrumental closely. That's in part why many don't feel connected to ARTPOP's sound and say it's generic. Because in some ways, it was.
