This story is so wild. They're saying she made people eat bananas out of stripper coochie in Amsterdam, which makes me think there might be some tall tales being told. :air:

I personally have a hard time with the “believe accusers” mentality that says you ought to unquestioningly side with them, no matter what... It is true that an overwhelming majority of people who accuse others of SA are telling the truth, and perhaps that alone is a bit different. But can we really conflate that to like… accusations of ANY sort of indiscretion?

Not that I’m choosing Lizzo’s side either. I don’t wanna choose any sides lol it’s not my business. But just saying.

You’re absolutely right in my opinion 😊

I really can't face the possibility of Lizzo being a bad person :saladga: like I know I don't personally know her and we often have an image of celebrities that doesn't match with reality... but I did not expect this from Lizzo :cyanlights: She literally gives me such positive vibes and she seems to be so nice...

:alsemanche:

I kinda want this to be fake, but I'm sure there must be a part of it that's definitely true.

I believe she's being sincere, but that's more of a gut feeling than anything :bear:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Couldn’t it be a possibility that those dancers wanna sue her for $$$? :franminervini:

So she's denying it but then says she's open about her sexuality

Still hard to judge with lack of details. But sounds to me like she's trying to imply the accusations are exaggerated and misrepresented yet there may be some truth to them

In situations like this there's usually some degree of downplaying. She probably acted more inappropriately than she cares to admit publicly tho it's hard to know how bad exactly in a he said she said situation

i think the fact there's a lawsuit holds some weight to the accusations or they just have a really sh*t lawyer who's desperate for any client :messga:

Similarly, an accuser might exaggerate their claims to make for a better case.

I'm not saying that's what happened but it's not fair to judge either side solely based on word of mouth. Both sides could have impure motivations for all we know, and none of us are in the position to draw meaningful conclusions.

I didnt believe the allegations at first because most of it was not even bad, but in this statement its almost like shes hinting that she did it because she has high standards, and she has to make hard decisions!

Freezie03

at this point, I feel like I don't trust any famous person at all anymore. I mean, LIZZO?

every celebrity is on thin ice at this point. I guess fame must really do something to a person's head to make them nasty and entitled. what a shame.

Whoever signed off on this PR statement should not be allowed to work in PR anymore lol It's definitely not helped.

Idk what happened, but some of the wilder accusations if true are truly horrific behaviours. And as someone who would identify as being sexually liberal & very open on the topic etc - that doesn't excuse what happened if true.

I think a lot of the milder allegations around the dance troupe, rehearsals, pressure etc reflect on what you hear from a lot of dancers who leave the industry so I wouldn't be surprised if there were bad working practices. I think that's a cultural thing within the performing arts industry though and a sign that the industry needs a reckoning over what really is acceptable and what isn't.

Not trying to defend her or anything, but it still amaze me how easy it is nowadays to cancel someone after hearing just one side of the story. There’s things we don’t know, nuances we probably don’t understand and things can be taken out of proportion or context in situations like this. I’m not taking any sides here. But we have to stop believing everything the media tell us automatically. I’m sure Lizzo is in the wrong for some of the things she’s been accused for. I’m gonna wait for more evidence before taking any sides.
