Taylor swift, I’m probably gonna get dragged for this but I think she is the embodiment of white mediocrity. Her fans make out she’s this revolutionary artist and I really just don’t see it.

Billie. Started listening to her new song for barbie and it just does NOTHING for me. All of her songs sound the same

Katy. One solid album does not excuse the pile of awful stuff she’s put out, not to mention her often horrendous personal inclinations.

sorry but something about taylor and her fans acting like shes the second coming of jesus and creator of pop music really IRKS me to my core and i cannot fathom why shes as big as she is

She’s as big as she is because she was smart enough to recognize the value of staying connected to her fans. She has never left them behind, actively encourages them to engage deeply with her work, and has successfully created a community around that work. That work is deeply personal for her fans and has soundtracked a lot of their lives and important moments within them. I know for me personally her music was there for me at a time when I needed something to focus my energy into once in a dark place, and that is true for most of her fans

She’s allowed us to grow alongside her rather than against her, and that has created a sense of loyalty that’s never really wavered.

She’s figured out the value of connecting with her audience, and few other artists have really tried to do that, and if they did, they eventually disconnected.

Billie is so boring except maybe a couple of songs :iamfair: Lana whisper sings as well but her songs are on a whole new level and never fails to connect :ororomunroe:

I voted for Other in regards to Olivia Rodrigo. Like I genuinely cannot believe the level of popularity that music rose to. :awkney:

Taylor, I don't see the appeal. Despite the records she's breaking, I feel like her music will be forgotten in a few decades; the whole "she's the next Beatles" thing is super inflated by her fanbase.

...has anybody seen my disco stick?

Ariana just seems very artificial and uninteresting for me, I know she may be sweet or cool irl but I feel that way towards her popstar persona. Her songs don't resonate withme (although that just may be me) and her performances usually feel like the same over and over again. I'm pretty sure her vocals may be the best feature I can save from her. :golfclap:

And yet she gets more popular with each year and her older songs are streaming in the charts all the time just look at Cruel Summer it's 4 years old or All too well going #1 10 years later :ohwell:
