I was there when she interrupted a performance (Lush Life) to ask fans to be quiet and listen to the music. Then she started the song over fron the top. I was really happy because those fans had been screaming at Gaga at the most random moments, ruining a very soft and emotive song. To me in this case it depends on wat it took taking that group picture. If they were taking their time getting into position, giving the camera person instructions, or whatever husstle and busstle it creates, I can understand its annoying in a small theatre venues during a ballad. A selfie usually is less eventful. Although once I got an amazing extended eye to eye moment during Poker face at Artrave when practically everyone around me turned their backs to her to take selfies with Gaga behind them and she decided to lock eyes with me and it felt so cool "dancing with her" for those few lines. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
monstertoronto 8,835
At every concert I’ve ever been to people are so stately taking photos and videos the entire time.sometimes they will take selfies because they’re so excited to be there. It’s so completely normal it’s crazy ti me that this Miranda Lambert would stop a show just to scold them. Also this is a Vegas residency and everyone know people are in Vegas to have a good time and relax, why be so strict there if all places. If she cares that much then she should make her show use those little bags that lock up peoples phones during the show like Madonna and Bono did to them on their theatre shows. Shadow 6,490
This is an issue I can see both ways on. If a fan has purchased a ticket for a show, shouldn't they have the right to snap photos of themselves to remember the show? However, it does seem to be a distraction for others and the artist. If you go to a movie theater, people and staff expect you to put your phones away on silent in respect for other customers. Should concert attendees be held to a similar standard? Before cellphones became common, I remember going to concerts with signs saying, "No cameras," and yet people snuck them in anyways in risk of getting caught and camera confiscated. However, cellphones as a communicating device has nullified that policy. Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. -Carl Jung

So when it happened again in Rotterdam I blurted out to my friend (probably a bit too loud): They're ruining my favorite song! Cavadour 2,044
Along this thread, I read that taking pictures at concerts is normal. I get it. From the digital native and the alpha gen point of view, it's a standard. There was a time cellphones didn't exist. We could enjoy the music in the moment. Today, all these outstretched arms with screens on during shows are a plain nuisance. I can't enjoy what's happening on stage anymore. Same in theaters. All these f*cking screens flashing everywhere are unbearable. And to me, that. is. not. normal ! This selfie-sh way has burst into my fun life these last decades, just to ruin it. Last time I went for a movie in theater was for ASIB. In the row just in front of me, during the movie, someone was playing a game on his phone with earphones on. Thank god, it was an afternoon screening and I could dive into another free seat. So now, I'm avoiding this kind of crowded events. Unless I really want to see, hear and enjoy the artist. Then I spend good money for early access, in order to put the a§§hølЄ phonaddicts behind me ! Late to the party but I got a diamond heart
