Adela Calin, a Miranda Lambert fan who was recently called out by the singer for taking a selfie during a concert, said the incident "felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me”   ICYMI: The singer briefly paused her Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency show on July 15 to call out a group of concertgoers for taking selfies during her performance of "Tin Man." As seen in video circulating on social media, Lambert told the audience, "These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It's pissing me off a little bit."

Well, Adela Calin—who was one of the fans in the group—since spoke out about the incident, sharing that she was "appalled" by Lambert's comment.

"It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place," the 43-year-old told NBC News. "I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture."

Calin added that she and her friends had tried to take a group photo before the show, but they "couldn't get one good picture" due to the lighting.

"We were so excited," she recalled, "because I think we had the best seats in the house in the whole theater."

Yet you were taking yourself out of the moment to pose for the perfect picture. Quite infuriating for an artist who's performing and putting on a show for you.

People had fun in different ways and it's not an Orchestra with all that strict rules.

Agree

It's just weird as hell to take such a group pic during a concert... and distracting for the artist

Is it rude? Sure. Should she have made an example out of them? Nah.

If it’s against the rules, let security handle it. If it’s not, that’s on Miranda.

The fans paid to be there and if they wanna capture a picture to remember the moment then they should be able to without being ridiculed in front of everyone. People really acting like the picture disrupted the whole concert instead of this jackass stopping her show to comment on it. Yikes!

My. Lawyer. Liked. That.

Were there any rules about not using cellphones or flash photography during the concert? The photo seems super clear and looks like they used flash. By all means, take your selfie but don't use FLASH in a dimly lit room cause then it becomes a distraction and you can get kicked out.

I assumed it was a group blocking the show for everyone in the middle of a crowd which I would understand getting upset at but come on, this is harmless. Let them take the damn photo :littlepotter:

Are her shows that empty that she noticed some women taking a few pics?

It’s truly not that serious. Who doesn’t take photos at pop/“country” concerts? If it was blatantly against the rules and it was made clear initially, ok maybe but let security handle it. Meanwhile Gaga’s enigma intro literally encourages people to take photos of the concert :laughga:

Idk who this woman singer is but she can scold any white selfie-taker woman she wants, it’s her show she does what she wants, if it was Beyoncé or Gaga or riri  or even Adele everyone would be like omg yas slay so girlboss and cunty 😍😍

"Immature, and vain" I didn't think that necessarily, until they decided to clap back :lmao: What a weird time to be alive. Get your 15 minutes of relevancy

Likewise, they paid hundreds of dollars for those seats and if they want to take a picture, they can. Unless they were doing something truly disruptive, then it feels unnecessary to stop a show just to scold them. Like, why is Miranda acting brand new? People have been taking pictures at concerts for a long time.

Also though, Beyonce, Gaga, and Rihanna probably wouldn't care enough to stop the concert. Their fanbases are the like the prime audience to want to take pictures.
