PCD had hits and toured arenas. What impact did DK have? Nicole was chosen to lead the group with the hope that she would be a successful solo artist afterward. She was in Eden’s Crush and that lead nowhere. We all know girl groups have a short shelf life, so they probably wanted her to front it because she can sing, dance, and good looking then make her a solo artist. She even released Whatever You Like as her solo single before “Doll Domination.” Doll Domination was meant to be a solo Nicole album but ended up being the second PCD album. Nicole Scherzinger stays booked and busy to this very day. Sure Nicole’s music was more successful with PCD versus solo stuff, but DK was handpicked by Puff Daddy and was backed by his label and Audrey’s band STILL didn’t achieve any level of success even close to PCD. Nicole was the only iconic member in that group and that is likely the managements decision to make her be the one that is most memorable but still lol it was a very Nicole centric band. Not like the spice girls where all 5 shared the spotlight equally and had strong personalities and were all individually interesting on their own.
