I am surprised this happened in July... Given earth is actually closest to the sun during the Northern Hemispheres winter. Which is why summers are more extreme in southern hemisphere countries

 

But much of the planet in the south is water so perhaps the average as a whole globally does not increase in those months?

In my part of the UK it’s been cooler than it was last year by about 2/3 degrees for at least a month - summer hasn’t been as hot as previous years here.

Florida here too! Who needs a sauna, just step outside at any given time of the day or night. Disgusting! I feel so bad for landscapers, roofing, construction workers, etc. 😭

Same so far in my part of Canada (Toronto area)

 

We've had only 2 or 3 days so far reach around 30C while some years by the end of the first week of July you would of had several days reach 30ish by now

 

In fact much of June was a comfortable low to mid 20s which I am not complaining about as it's better for me at work 👀
