there’s a difference between camp and campy btw lol

Camp is Mommy Dearest and Ariana Debose at the BAFTA’s - Camp doesn’t know it’s camp / it’s not in on the joke.

Campy is the barbie movie

either way, I'm pretty sure no one sees it as only a girls movie :air: It's mainly the gays that have that much interest in it from the looks of things

it’s funny how many people must think Barbie is a ‘girls movie’ and not a campy classic waiting to happen.

It's not a must think, but Barbie is definitely related to girls/women. Doesn't mean that boys/men aren't allowed to watch it though.

Barbie has always been campy though and an attraction to girls/women and the LGBTQ community.

Not for me though, never liked it. I was the "Action-Man" kind of guy, literally the opposite of Barbie.  :laughga:

Heard the movie actually will be very liberally feminist, the one shown on trailers are the lighthearted parts. If that's true, I can see conservatives will start attacking it soon after it releases. Especially knowing many people sees Barbie brands as brands for kids. All the conservative parents might make a move. Might possibly causing huge 2nd week drop. Seeing how the new Little Mermaid are still not able to break even few weeks in, sadly these groups do have power over these things.

Heard that as well. They are either hiding that aspect very well in the trailers or have toned it down during reshoots to make it more GP-friendly.

Hope I'm wrong but it still seems kinda risky to me? Word of mouth after its opening weekend might indeed damage its box office run, like you said

Like the hype for this movie might be little too big eventually...

make sure not to watch Floppenberger or Mission Floppable so Barbie can be #1 and Tom Cruise can cry about it
