TEANUS 12,924 Posted June 22, 2023 Share Posted June 22, 2023 I don't think we or the GP were ready for ASIB or Joanne in 2013/2014. ARTPOP was such a natural progression. If anything I think this would've been immaculate: 1. The Fame (2008) 2. The Fame Monster (2009) 3. Born This Way (2011, later in the year) 4. Chromatica (2013) - after the aggressive, rock-oriented sounds of Born This Way, Chromatica expands on the visual edginess and gothic vibe of it while acting as a complete contrast to it musically. Chromatica is a contrast to the hard, complex production of BTW with polished, direct house and dance tracks. 5. Joanne (2016) 6. ARTPOP (2020) - Following Joanne, ARTPOP is a return to form with Gaga revisiting her dance-pop roots in the most aggressive and colorful manner yet. ARTPOP takes turns that some expected for Chromatica following Born This Way and fans go crazy over her turn to a more "hard", industrial sound a la BTW.
