Yeah, I mean I thought the pharma post is in bad taste too (nobody in the US supports pharma companies lmao) but the way people went straight to dragging her through the mud as is she hasn't been on our side for like 15 years now

This...is a good point.

Not the people expressing mild disappointment, but the ones acting like Gaga pushed her Trumpy dad's restaurant while simultaneously being caught making out with a MAGA Republican. They've been wanting to 'let go', and when provided with something to let go (albeit something that at worst is mildly/moderately thoughtless, and not truly bad a la R. Kelly, etc.) they seized on it.

It's unfortunate, though, that they're overreacting in such an insane way instead of just going 'welp, a little disappointed, probably will stop being a fan for a while'. I genuinely can not think of another fan base that treats someone they 'like' in such a way...not even Taylor Swift's fans reacted so harshly to her dating Matty Healy. They've overreacted so much it made Billboard and Reddit.

I'm sorry but this is just not true about Taylor's fans there were tons of post on reddit abt Matt Healy and in the comments tons of swifties saying they're on the edge of unstanning 

 

Anyways I'm sure she'll probably think over another advertisement like this in the future after all this unless she feels really strongly about it for some reason

Twitter Swifities did their damndest to keep those of us on the side of the fanbase that were criticizing the Matty debacle quiet because they're of the mindset that any word against her decisions is an attack and therefore must be smoked out.

This is SO not true, I'm sorry. As someone who is very involved in medicine, I have to say it is anything but mild or unexciting and in any other country besides US you need a specialist neurologist to prescribe you this medication. Not even general practicioner can prescribe it, at least not in my country. It is not an opioid, but it's not harmless too. It's not just about misuse or potential addiction, but also about interfering with other medication someone uses, titration of dose bc some kidney or liver issues etc.

I always get surprised seeing Americans (not referring to you but Americans in general) talking about meds like they're M&Ms lol while in EU countries you can't get anything besides NSAIDs and acetaminophen if you don't have a prescription.
