It's really not that uncommon for singers to not tour regularly, or make plans for it in the near future.

First, the real reason miley wont tour is because theres clearly no real demand for her as a touring act and she doesnt have the stamina for it. besides, she doest need touring to make money right now . I love miley but let's be real, if she had to tour, she would!

Second, equating madonnas  desire to tour (or not) with her "level of narcissism" is very shallow. Especially in comparison to miley who has been guilty of changing her entire image and ochestrating pure gimmicks for clicks. i don't see you questioning mileys integrity for acting a fool on stage just for attention or is that energy reserved just for artists you clearly don't like?

I am in no way a Miley Cyrus fan. If you’re that upset about it, I’ll say Miley is just as narcissistic as madonna if that’s what you want to hear. But what I’m not going to do is backtrack and say that what I said about madonna being an extreme example of a narcissist isn’t true, because it is. Anything else?

Beyond not feeling up for it; this is probably the biggest reason and it’s also the reason why Miley has always been in a particular position where she can genre bend and take her career anywhere.

She’s sitting on HM royalties as well as her own albums. Plus with the money she made off The Voice, I imagine she doesn’t feel the pinch to do so.

This is such a weird stance Artists are not there to be shipped on planes and busses 24/7 for the sole purpose of laborious 2 hour concert performances, rehearsals, meetings and appearances. They're there to make art, hence the term. They're songwriters, producers, etc. that are generally doing it for self-expression, not just to be performers.

Tours are a nice thing for fan engagement, but they shouldn't be an obligation and it's gross that labels and streaming have made it the only avenue for a lot of acts to make a profit from their creativity.

Artist and fan engagement has been dying day by day and then y’all wonder why Taylor is on top of the game.

No matter your capabilities, you can always make something work in terms of engagement. Anything to show you care. But her saying I’d rather sing to my friends than thousands of people. Ma’am those thousands of people are the reason you make a living.

The point is that, Whatever opinion you have of madonna, her desire to tour (or not) has nothing to do with it.  I can explain but I cannot understand for you too.

It’s cool she’s so honest but from a business perspective, this is definitely playing a role in why she can’t sell albums as well as her peers. I think she doesn’t care as much about all that though!

Anyway, Miley also said part of the issue is performing in front of the huge crowd. It's isolating. A shorter tour doesn't fix that
