Because touring isn't a requirement? Plenty of artists are plenty fulfilled and perfectly successful and happy without touring. Some people just don't like it and that's fine. Touring is not some mark every artist must hit.

This comment is so wrong to me. An artist can't be a good one if not touring? I know plenty of great ones who never toured or appeared on TV. Maybe you should check your criterias in order to define what an artist is

Anyway, Miley also said part of the issue is performing in front of the huge crowd. It's isolating. A shorter tour doesn't fix that

In 1995 he released a two-disc album, HIStory, and despite it still holding the record for the best selling two-disc set, the album's sales didn't meet the production cost so his label literally forced him, through sickness, to embark on the HIStory World Tour.

If even MJ can be forced into touring on someone else's schedule, Miley definitely wouldn't be able to say "hey, can we take a week break between dates" or something.

I do wonder how hard it was for Gaga to find a compromise with TCB and be allowed to do a short stadium tour rather than a full arena tour.

We know damn well there is no demand for a Miley Tour 

Bangerz tour was struggling to sell many dates, she was the biggest Popstar of 2013-14 and yet Gaga, Katy and others were selling their tours better and let’s not forget that the younger tour was cancelled literally because of the poor demand it had

I didn’t say that, so keep focused on the meaning of my reply if you can. Celebrities might be inherently narcissistic, but what I said was Madonna specifically gets most if not all  of her validation from seeing people adore her en masse in person. Clearly Miley is not on the same level of narcissism if she has no desire to tour, or at least she doesn’t get her validation from that the way Madonna does. Madonna is, categorically, an extreme example of celebrity narcissism and thusly seeks out continuous touring to satisfy her need to be seen and desired using tours as a medium. Hope that helps.
