Hi gaybies ladies and theydies,

 

it’s been a while since I’ve made a thread but I’ve been listening to my “summer playlists” now that the weather is changing here in the UK and I realised what would be (at least in my opinion) a nice sonic progression for Gaga from Chromatica.

French House.

For those who don’t know, French House is a genre that is famous for sampling old Disco riffs and turning them into something new. Below are a few examples of the most famous French House songs. Some of which some of you may actually be familiar with.

 

for those of you avid fans of Chromatica, you will probably notice that Replay is very much the closest she has done to this. Sampling Diana Ross in the song.

but yeah this was just a little quick thread that I was wondering if people had any thoughts on?

to me it makes the most sense, it would be a natural progression and she could incorporate live instruments into it too such as live bass, drums, guitar etc around a sample of some classic disco to make a new song. Plus Replay is easily a fan favourite song and has such amazing energy.

Remember when we thought LG5 / Rebel Heart / a Pop-Icons Record was supposed to sound like this when Billboard shared a Snippet of this Song? 

She should work with that man tho! It fits the sound you described!

I’m also into this kind of dance music but imo it’s still very similar to Chromatica and I’m not sure she would be tapping into house music so soon again. even tho she is famous for it I think she is always looking to show range and versatility and deliver something unexpected so I’m thinking she’ll go for less bpm with LG7.

I could be wrong and honestly wouldn’t mind if she does something like this but I doubt she would put a whole album with this mood right now.

I'd love that but it's too similar to Chromatica, I highly doubt she'd go that route, I'm expecting a pop rock sound

Wasn't Chromatica LITERALLY inspired by these songs? Don't get me wrong, I would love for her to continue with the dance music and stick to chromatica sonically, but LG6 was already this sound. 

Before the release of Chromatica, she put out a playlist of songs that her and bloodpop listened to in order to get inspiration, and almost all of these songs were on it. Rain On Me even has a very similar bass line to "music sounds better with you" by Stardust.

I agree with what people are saying here about Chromatica already being house music inspired, but at the same time I think Gaga could get away with LG7 being perhaps Disco / Soul / Funk inspired with elements of House, with some of it being 110-120 bpm.. Maybe some songs similar to Gaga's version of I Want Your Love by Chic

This sound would've been perfect for something like that "MonoChromatica" rumored album aka Chromatica Vol 2 during the pandemic but I think she has moved on from that. I don't think she'd do something so similar right now, especially now after Hold My Hand and in between Joker 2 stuff.

As much as I love Chromatica and know it IS a full circle album, it's one of those records that was short and sweet and felt like it could've used a second volume. There's a lot of 90's sounds that could've been part of the inspiration behind it. Vol 2 would've been cool as a darker sound, techno, etc.

very true, Twas just a thought I had. Perhaps she’ll move back towards simple electro-pop again and revisit the sort of simplistic sound of The Fame

Actually now you mentioned it, Free Woman’s 2018 demo sampled Music Sounds Better’s bassline and beats almost entirely to the point we could probably do a mashup of them
