This might be an unpopular opinion but I think ten years is too soon to do a an anniversary re-release.

I don’t think it needed to do anything. I’m not really understanding why ten years of a release even needs some event. That seems to be a new trend.

I really loved the new versions of You And, The Edge of Glory and Born This Way country version. I think they were a fun take on Gaga songs we love and I'm just happy I bought the CD, Vinyl and cassette, great for my collection. 

I think the release did what it needed to do but nothing outstanding. The world was still busy dealing with COVID it's not like there was going to be a huge event or people other than hardcore fans cared about it and that's ok.

The problem is too many people with pop voices sing it. Gaga gives a bit of grit and grime to the vocal which cuts the sugary production and makes the song soar. Even when she sings the sweeter parts, she gives the notes *body* and heft.

I thought it was something cute for the fans. I think in a post-TS album remake world. Doing 10-20 year anniversaries with unreleased tracks and quality remixes and features could be interesting ways of celebrating them. Each album by Gaga explores different sounds, themes, and ideas and then moves onto the next album with a different set of influences and sounds. So fans can enjoy more songs from that specific era and further explores that sound while she works on a new sound, influence and art for a new album. Something like this:

2023- ARTPOP 10

2024- LG7

2026- Joanne 10

2027- LG8

2028- The Fame: Eternal- TF 20 year anniversary

2030- Chromatica 10

2031- BTW 20 

2032- LG9

2034- LG7 10

2035- LG10- final album of her pop career

2037- LG8 10

2038- ASIB 20 year re-release

2039- The Fame: Eternal Monster- 30 year anniversary of TFM including all content from The Fame:Eternal and new unreleased tracks during recording for TFM.

2042- LG9 10

I don’t think it had anytning to do with GH, Judas, or especially BM going viral. GH was resurrected in her live shows just a few years back and also follows Born This Way (song) on the album, so it’s not unlikely that whoever started its associated trend stumbled upon the track via one of those tunnels. Judas was always destined to be better appreciated in the long run IMO. It’s classic Gaga in every way and resembles Bad Romance, Just Dance, and Poker Face quite heavily IMO. Bloody Mary was obvi all from the Wednesday trend

While you are obviously right, BM did go viral thanks to Wednesday, we have to think about the person who first made that edit that actually started the whole trend. We dont know them at all… they might have been a little monster loving BM ever since its release but what if they thought about the song more ever since the 10th anniversary release and decided to use the song for the edit? They also could have been a member of Gen Z who first discovered the album thanks to this re-release and they could have decided to use that song as it was still freah in their mind. So in a way the 10 anniversary album might have contributed to the song being more in people’s minds, which later ignited the whole trend.

I personally have no interest in listening to covers of Gaga’s songs tbh. I appreciate what her intention was, but I forgot it even existed until you mentioned it. I would have much rather had something like DOC where it was reimagined with Gaga’s influence still heavily present, but again, Gaga’s artistic choices are ones I will always stand by even if they’re not always ones I’d make myself
