Do you think this is why Gaga decided to not attend?? Not just because what this woman said, maybe because she knows all the wrong things Karl said, it was so weird that every source was reporting people like Lady Gaga and Lana del Rey were attending and they never arrived... :what:

So why did Ana decide celebrate him? Why couldn't she have chosen another theme?

Because Ana is an attention seeker who could sell her children for fame and power. I remember reading she once said (idk if true) that she would never invite the Kardashians or any other influencer, because they would vulgarize the event.

I'm glad Gaga didn't go this year, regardless of her support of Karl or not.

Oh wow I was reading the first part of her post (the image) thinking surely she’s a hypocrite and is using the feminism card to get the spotlight. Then the second part of her post (the comment) was utter brilliance. The double standards of liberals is one of the many reasons why I left the left. So glad she’s calling it for what it is.

Ahh yes when I enter a voting booth… I think of the response of celebrities to the controversial MET Gala theme of a horrid fashion designer :toofunny: get real ffs

She ate in the first half though.

See, I really don't think most of these celebrities were paying any sort of conscious thought to the man the ceremony was themed after beyond dressing for the theme.

That isn't to say they were right for it or do not shoulder some fault for not properly researching or hearing the people out who brought this up when this was announced, because they do. But as we've learned across many examples of this, when it comes to their work there are more than a few celebrities who hold their personal beliefs in one hand and their career obligations in another. I believe it's possible to consider both at once, but it's incredibly uncommon for Hollywood to do so.

This is why we have all got to stop looking at celebrities for some sort of moral guide. They are human beings just as everyone else is and that means they're fallible. They're going to make some poor, even sometimes hypocritical choices. I think it's a jump to automatically assume just because they attended the event that they endorse anything he said, as I doubt that seriously. This is a promo tool, a part of their work, and more often than not they're going to participate regardless of whatever personal stances they have toward things.

I'm supportive of those who didn't attend due to their discomfort. I'm not going to rush to criticize all those who did though on the other side of that. I'm not interested in celebrities for their morals, and if I was I'd be consistently disappointed. Watching them make uninformed choices or put their career ahead of their beliefs at this point just comes with the territory.

I'm glad this event managed to push some of his controversies out into the public eye further though because if for nothing else, maybe Ana will avoid doing something like this again.

Was the met gala for him specifically tho?

Yes, the theme was Karl and the legacy he left behind.

I don't agree with a lot of her takes, but she spilled here.  Seeing all of these celebrities who were such big "supporters" of the #MeToo movement turn around and honor a man who so blatantly disrespected SA survivors was gross.

That's why it cracks me up that some people were honoring his cat and not him :laughga:

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
