Controversiaga

I think a cooler concept would’ve been a bunch of fruit taped to the wall, whether it’s a bunch of bananas or a variety of fruit.

but one single banana taped to the wall just looks so lazy and foolish , I’m so sorry

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

A Banana and a tape artist makes more money than me. And I work 40+ hours per week. That’s disturbing.

A student in South Korea ate a banana that was tapped to a canvas in an art display museum because he was hungry.

But it’s still a banana taped to a wall… :enigma:

Honestly as someone who went to art school the sheer amount of trolling / bullshitting that takes place in artistic circles is staggering.

Tbh. I used to suck at drawing (still do). I used to get decent marks by BS-ing all my abstract art units with overly inspiring discriptions of its meaning :toofunny:

Maybe that’s the point of the artwork and why it is so expensive, you essentially get a life-time of bananas everytime somebody eats it or destroys the banana…much to think about

The fact that they change the banana every 2-3 days makes this high camp and high art. It's less about the actual banana on the wall, but rather, the concept of it, and its ability to outlast time. How something organic and with decaying life expectancy can be immortalized and revered as the Mona Lisa. It's well worth the $120,000.
