I bet they were waiting for Coachella to take advantage of them being together and shoot that video :selena:

After that, Alice, Babylon, Replay, Free Woman, Enigma and Sine From Above must have had videos too :bradley: At least we got 911

Sour Candy is the worst song on Chromatica, but it isn't a skip and has mass appeal due to the Blinks. I am really not sure how they let the Blinks support slip away. It had the opportunity to be massive from a marketing perspective. Chromatica was an era of missed opportunities and showcased her management and label's ability to not adapt.

We'll just have to be patient and wait for it to be featured in a Netflix show in 2047 and become a top 60 hit

Isn't SC a top 40 hit? Almost top 30 :enigma:

gaga's career is full of missed opportunities

Sour Candy wouldve smashed if BP and gaga promoted it properly

i blame gaga and her team for not even throwing together a simple music video

I don't want to say this, but after 3 years, the song is a SKIP for me...

I think of it like:
John Wayne and GUY are types of hits that got away.

Sour Candy is the hit that was absolutely neglected. lol

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Starstuck is the diamond hit that got away. Monster is the cute 3x platinum that got away. Scheiße is the gold top 10 for a week hit that got away

Not it is not, it's a mediocre song

It's almost not even about that - it was an almost guaranteed commercial success with the support of the Black Pink fans. KPOP stans are a force to be reckoned with, and from a purely business perspective it was a total lost opportunity

They made it a promo single with a lyric video and that’s what the song deserves. There was potential for a bigger move but there clearly different plans and that’s just fine

It would have been a #1 but maybe they didn’t want another duet to be a hit after shallow and then rain on me .. but it would have been nice for us ..

i don’t think they care about that lol

Honestly when they released sour candy the day before the album launch and only one day of activity counted before the chart tabulation I remember thinking it was such a lost opportunity. If they had released it even a day later with a video it would have gone number one and would have been a huge hit. So mishandled.

SC's purpose in life was to be a marketing exercise rather than a song, and it is the musical equivalent of the front end of one car welded to the back end of another car. But in spite of my haughty disdain, I've grown to like it. It's far from the skip I thought it was destined to be.
