Of course it’s weird watching Joe being a conservative, but I think so many of us can relate to having parents with different political ideologies than us and how much it sucks. I’m sure it’s no easier for Gaga than it is for any of us.

This. I'm far left, but if someone was say....supporting Larry Hogan, Mitt Romney, etc. or even Rick Scott (ugh)..... I wouldn't think they were a far right fash type. I would strongly, strongly disagree with them, though, but I wouldn't believe they were necessarily fashy so much as just conservative.

Tucker, DeSantis, Mitch McConnell, Hawley, Trump, MTG, though....all of those men and women are the worst of the worst when it comes to conservatives.

That said, no one should blame celebrities (or people) for having trash parents and/or expect them to cut ties with their parents. People can love their parents even when they are trash. It'd be different if it was a romantic partner or a friend or say cousin. And I really hope twitter doesn't bring this up, even as a joke, because half of twt is insane and 'would' blame Gaga for Joe's behavior regardless.

I'm not American, so I suppose I just don't get America. I look at Joe, and I think he has huge credit in the bank for the part he played in bringing Gaga into the wirld. But even leaving that aside I look at Joe in 5'2", and I remember him in a BBC radio interview he did with Gaga, and what do I see ? I see an affable, likeable, laid back type of person. He is the guy who sat with Gaga and shared a bottle of tequila while she wrote TEOG.. He is the guy who filled Gaga's childhood with music. When she announced that she was leaving college he didn't abandon her, he supported her financially. What I'm describing there is a good guy, a pillar of the community guy, likely to be conservative in his views, likely to have voted for Reagan and Bush x 2, but at the same time not some dingbat who would try to arrange an exorcism when he discovered that his daughter was pole-dancing.

And now we come to the tricky bit. Tucker Carlson and his ilk are not conservatives. They are extremists. They want to tear it all down. They refuse to accept electoral defeat and they brand their political opponents as evil. And just wtf a guy like Joe is doing associating himself with such obvious badness is beyond me. I do not get it.

I'm not someone to claim anyone I disagree with is fascist/nazi, but there's Mitt Romney conservative and Tucker Carlson conservative. Tucker Carlson is literally a fascist, who doesn't believe in democratic elections, spreads Putin's propaganda on a daily basis and racist rhetoric.
