Dirtyicecreamz 1,589
Sooo I'm asking this because I thinking about the BTW era which is when I become a STAN. Prior to this, a lot of my friends and people from my school loved Gaga and her The Fame/Monster hits but when she entered her BTW era, I was in 8th grade and I remember it became almost taboo to like Gaga and it was synonymous with being gay. With her makeup and music became more experimental, most the people I knew were saying she was "way too weird" and didn't like the facial prosthetics and how dark her music/visuals were. Or that they liked the "old gaga" much more. I loved the BTW era so much but I just remember being one of the only ones in 8th grade that did and that would listen to her post The Fame Era songs. But then when ARTPOP came around, so many people I knew where listening to her again (esp. Applause) and one my friends basically said she was expecting Gaga to release an album like ARTPOP after The Fame Monster. Did your friends listen to Gaga during this era? Stop the music, Start the drama.

Tyler1992 2,160
Yes!! I was in grade 10 when Born This Way came out. It was a real crossover moment, she was edgy & cool during The Fame Monster, she had the mystique about her that was still undefined. Amongst her peers she was the one who stuck out. Born This Way was released & it was solidified that she wouldn’t falter & appease to the GP. I remember being at a party and Much Music playing, when Born This Way came on everyone stopped to watch it. Hindsight says everyone actually thought it was cool, but being different was weird. Head Empty 24,309
I did not have any friends, so no Most of the people around me hated her, so I was a closeted Gaga stan from 2009-2012 . I met my best friend late 2011 and I forced him to go to BTWB with me. Things became a lot better since then I still don't know any "real" Gaga fans in real life but at least my friends and family tolerate/encourage my excessive fandom Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺
